How was your Civic Paid for?
I am just checking out who paid for there own Civic. I mean all the older out of college people need not reply. Just us who are in high school or just out of high school. I have wanted a new car ever since i got my POS Hyundai Elantra a couple years back. I worked so hard for that time to get a new car. Then like right after I was able to get a loan (age 18) my mom and I got me a loan for my first new car which I worked for over the past 2 very long years. It makes me love my car even more knowing I paid for it myself. Every mod I do to it makes me more proud. My Civic gives me something to look forward to and to work harder to make it better. Well anyway... just checking.
I am 19 (almost 20) and I am paying for my car by myself. I have learned a lot through this experience and I am thinking about either refinancing in a year or trading this car in and starting with a new car. I will probably end up refinancing and keeping this car because I love it to death.
The only reason I would trade it in would be for a RSX Type-S, an Impreza WRX, or the Evo VII. Those cars are bad to the bone.

Well, to make a long story short, I had a 95 mazda 626. My friend pissed me off earlier in the day, later he asked to borrow the car. So I broke the brake lights out, attached some speaker wire to the bulb connection, lead the wire to the gas tank, and gave him the keys. The rest is history!!!!

you shouldn't say stuff like that on an open message board like this. hehe.
Question. Do you really care about how others paid for their cars, or is this just a POST?
Oh yeah:Uncle B: I called a mitsubishi dealership here in Denver and they said they had 2 evo VII coming here but they have been presold for over a year now. I think its going to be a while before we can get our hands on one.

under mom's name but its paid for already straight up cash from my life's saving this suks big time. no dough, at least i dont have to pay for insurance lolz
wow...i really respect all of u who paid for your cars...my parents brought me the car in highschool...but they knew i was goin to commute to college so i guess it was an investment or something....anyway..its cool not paying for anything but it sucks having to answer to your parents for everything.
well my car was basically payed for mostly by the insurance... I use to have a 96' maxima and it got stolen... the insurance game me like $14,500 for it which is really good seeming how it had 104,000 miles.. I paid for the maxima so my parents payed for the difference of the civic(like $2,000) but they pay for the insurance.. i"m glad that car got stolen i got a brand new car..not as fast but brand new , so i get to rack up my own miles on it =o)
Two weeks before college started last september a lady ran into the back of my last car ('87 pontiac sunbird) and did enough damage for it to be totaled. I took the $3200 from that, threw in another $2800 and used that for downpayment. This made the monthly payments low enough for me to afford during college.
I'm 18, paid 75% of it mom dad helped out with rest but i gotta pay them back with interest....HOLY SHEIT!!! anyways was paid cash all paid for
my civic was paid for by state farm insurance. my parents bought me a 99 s-10 for graduation. i fixed it up slapped some 17's dropped it shaved everything and a lady ran a red light and hit me. my parents paid 10,000 for it and after all my reciepts were turned in they cut me a check for 16,000 and a grand a month for 3 months to cover lost wages since my collar bone was broke and i couldn't work. well i got my civic for 16,900 had to pull the rest from savings. it ended up being 18,800 after taxes and it had leather. so i was happy.

saved for a year and a half, put 8500 down, kept 1000 for accessories from handa-accessories.com, and keeping 1500 stored away in case of emergencies, and the payments are only 166.93 a month for 60 months, but ill have it paid off by 2003

Well, here goes. I'm 17, I have paid 3 payments myself, but I'm more or less working for my dad's company for a few hours a day to compensate for the car payments. I'm the Resident Courier. doing all kinds of crap. and occasionaly will have to make a 1000km drive or something. I will pay for the car as soon as i turn 18 (8 weeks).
mine cost me $16700, and i had $2000 down on it, so my payments are $306 for 60. co-signed by my Mom. how do i pay for it? i go to college during the day, bust my **** unloading trucks for Target at night, and barely have enough $ to cover all the freakin bills. mods? lol i suppose i could pay for them with.... sticks or something its all good tho
i own a one hell of a nice a** car

I'm sure everyone here knows I was joking. I would never do something like that,...and then tell somebody.
Oh yeah, I bought mine my self, Got a pretty good deal, only $200 above invoice. I forgot what that works out to. Somewhere around $15,700 i think.

Yeah i got a good deal too. I got mine for 15,600 with mats and mudguards. I put 4K down. I pay about 232 a month. I am trying to get it paid off earlier tho. I will hopefully have it paid off by the end of the year.
Well I have no credit, so I did have to use my mom's credit and I ended up as a co-signer.
I landed a kick *** deal (SO I THINK). I put $500 down and my payments are $329 for 60 months @ 5.9%, but I should have it paid off sooner than that (I HOPE, If I don't spend it all in the girlfriend)
It's a 2k2 EX Manual
As to how I pay for it? I'm 18 working 20 hours a week as a Network Technician for a school it pays crappy money, and I barely make enough to make my $254 insurance too
Overall I'm extremely happy with the investment... Then again I've only had it for a month

Hey MugenRacer! I did the same exact thing, sold my camaro to get a more fuel-effecient car. I paid about $35 bucks a week to keep that damn thing filled. It was crazy!
so anyway, I had brought up to my dad that I wanted a new car, and said I would pay for it myself with monthly payments, and that was the plan till the day before I bought the civ... My grandparents surprised me with a lil dough...which paid the entire car! So I would have paid for it myself. I SWEAR!!!!!
