New guy in town

Hey guys and gals,

I just got a 2001 civic si, and so far so good. I've been in out of this site and I'm impressed with what I see. I've even emailed you about some of the mods you guys have done. Thanks Again. "so fresh and so clean"! Anyways, I just had a few questions on what I can do with my new pocket rocket. I have the 5 year bumper to bumper warranty, so I really dont know what mods I can do. PLease help, I enjoy the stock options already, but I want to make the car my own. What possible mods can I do that won't void the 5 year warranty. I'd ask honda but you guys aremy first choice. What can be done in terms of: 1) interior, 2) exterior, 3) engine, 4) painting, 5) any other areas I neglected to mention. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Again, hope you can help and I'll message ya'll soon.

it all depends on the dealer, ask them what you can do

Yeah ask your dealer. Most will say you can do bolt ons, interior, and exterior work but if they find that the mod caused the problem then they won't cover it. I.E. If you replace your stereo system you lose your warrenty for that.

do a search if you want more info. There is tons of info on this site about what does and doesn't void your warrenty

Read the FAQ.

It's too bad that you got that extended warranty. It really is a waste of money IMO. I went to my dealer once to get this moulding fixed, but they basically scratched the hell out of this side panel while trying to fix the moulding and they didn't fix anything. I had other things for them to fix, but they didn't address any of my concerns. They ended up trying to make me not mod the car by telling me to watch out what kind of aftermarket parts I put on my car (I only had pedals and shaved emblems at the time).

I got the 7 year warranty. I am thinking of dropping that down to a 5 year to save some money.

how could they do that (legally?) if you arent into that part of the warranty yet, youre not paying anything for the 3 year/36k factory warranty. if they try to deduct money, dont let them
