Real life pics of Saturn Sky from Autoshowinmotion
Supposed to come out early 2006 and priced below 25k.
170 hp and 162 ft. lbs tq out of a 2.4 liter 4banger mated to your choice of a 5 speed manual or 5 speed auto..

if this car can handle and has the right weight, i'd might say bye bye miata.

I'm stuck between the two.
Tehcnically, you're all wrong, because it is not a rebadged Opel Speedster. The Speedster, as far as I know, is actually a mid-engine design (akin to the Lotus Elise), whereas the Sky is front-engine. If you must know, GM actually took the Vauxhall Lightning concept and decided that it should become a Saturn instead. They're taking quite a few ideas/designs from Opel/Vauxhall and turning them into Saturn vehicles. Seems like it's working out great thus far. The Sky is sure to be a hit. I know I'd love to have one.
Oh yeah, and Red is not a very flattering color for that car, LoL.

It has nothing to do with the speedster.

More proof
Vauxhall Lightning
"The VX Lightning is based on the same platform used for the Pontiac Solstice concept that was shown at the 2002 North American International Auto Show in Detroit."
"The Lightning was designed and developed at the GMNA studio in Birmingham. The team was headed by GMNA Advanced Design Director and chief designer on the Lightning, Simon ***. The joint design team included Opel Advanced Chief Designer Stefan Arndt, Dale Grewer (exterior), and Jochen Werner (interior)."

More info, the Solstice will have a; GT, GXP, GTP... one of those, I have seen pictures of the engine, it will be a 2.0 Eco Turbo, estimated power is around 240-250HP. So I think that there will be a Redline coming from Saturn for their Sky.

Am I the only one who likes the sky version better than the pontiac version?

The nameplate pontiac grill looks kinda of put on there just to be there. It just looks out of place IMO.
Perhaps i just like the sharp lines on the sky better than the curvy body of the solstice?

The Sky arrives with four-wheel independent suspension for better handling and stability. Coil spings are mounted over monotube shocks for better wheel control and road isolation.
Other technical highlights include: Four-wheel independent short/long arm suspension for optimal handling and stability
· Coil-over Bilstein monotube shocks for excellent wheel control and road isolation
· Hydraulically assisted rack- and-pinion power steering for quick, responsive vehicle control
· Four-wheel disc brakes with ABS for excellent stopping performance
· Wide track width for excellent stability and superior handling
· Near 50/50 weight distribution for balanced handling feel
· Structural tunnel design and hydroformed longitudinal rails for a stiff body that results in greater vehicle responsiveness and better overall feel
· Hydraulic engine mounts for a smoother engine feel
