Exhaust Intake... 05
Exhaust Intake... 05
i have a 2005 civic and its automatic... i wanted to know.. what would intake and an exhaust do to it? will it have any effect at all? more power? more noise? any input would be great
I have an auto 05 coupe with a AEM short ram intake and megan racing catback exhaust system. The low end power is the stomp and go, like 1000-4000 rpms, the high end power is at the top of your gear, when you've really got it stomped, like 4000-7000 rpms. Our low end is bad regardless; But an intake and an exhaust def. make it sound good (deep, gutteral tone) and speed it up a little bit, especially when vtec starts working in the higher rpms.
so basically it would run the same... but with some more sound.. and when u get to higher rpm ... hitting vtec... then u see the effectS? like more power? do u actually feel the effects? or just hear it? also... r u happy wit it? since u actually have it and im thinkin bout gettin it... just want ur personal experiences

you may or may not feel it... and a reminder, constantly mashing away on an auto tranny is a not a good idea. Some ppl live at the low RPM's b/c we actually value gas milleage. Others just want high end power and disregard low end.... sure it's fun to drive at the high RPMs but that puts more wear and tear on the engine (common sense).
automatic or manual, an intake/header/exhaust is not going to do much but make your car loud and annoying. (just my opinion on the loud and annoying part) save your money for appearance and handling enhancements or buy a car with more potential.
well i mash the fvck outta my auto tranny. If it ever messes up i'll take it and service the warranty. After the warranty's up, i'm goin k20. To answer the question, yes, you'll feel a power difference, allbeit a small one.
