Rep Power: 320 GM has refused to talk about the return of the Camaro although it has drop the ball here and there and suggested the return of a rear wheel drive car which most people interpret as the Camaro.

A "RWD Chevy coupe" is expected to be here in MY 2008 or CY 2007. Whether the car is named a Camaro is still "up in the air" as GM had said Camaro will only be built in Canada. But GM has recently invested 2.5 billion in Canada sooooo......read between the lines

Because Zeta was killed in the NA market does not mean that Camaro is dead. The platform was too big for a pony car anyways. Something else is in the works and most likely a concept will be appearing this coming January in Detroit.
As for styling, the car will probably have retro cues but not a retro ripoff like the Mustang is. A member on camaroz28.com named Redplanet is an employee for GM who worked in the 4thgen camaro and said that the next car will not be retro, but things can change since the 05 Stang is an obvious hit.
Powertrain, suspension setup, and price have not been revealed but it will be competitive with the Mustang. A GT500 competitor will MOST likely be offered (LS7 or a derivative of the small block).
If you guys care go to camaroz28.com and go to message boards then under 5thgendiscussion/future vehicle section to find TONS of info on the new Camaro

Rep Power: 336 ok ford did its big re-design of the stang and now gm wants to spank ford all over again with a nicer better camaro. duh. i bet all the rednecks on earth are just waiting for it to drop so they could buy it and then smoke all the new mustang owners. anyway, its called marketing. i wouldn't doubt that they would bring it back just to spite ford. and btw i think it will outsell the new stang when they bring it out. my thoughts.
not bad. looks like retro done with corvette/european ferrari style. looks more like a shelby. if i were to look at that without the titles, i would immediately think "what car is this?!" definately gives camaro a whole new look. cant wait to see the production model
