Ppl at GM maybe thinking since Pontiac has the Solstice (50/50 day and night), why not just call its little twin "Sky"?! Joined: Aug 2001

I can't find any proof that they are based on the same platform. yes the solstice/sky has similar lines and body style, but I can't find anythign that says they are on the same platform.

definitely having an identity crisis over at saturn.
the sky is inspired by the vauxhall vx lightning which is based off of the pontiac solstice which is inspired by the opel speedster. or at least that's what i'm understanding...

^^ That's a lot of research! I like the Sky better just because of the nicer looking front than the Solstice. However, I wouldn't buy neither of them even I had the money. They're just not the type of car I want

"The hang-up was developing a cost-effective rear wheel drive platform for such a small car. The result was GM’s new Kappa platform."
and
"The Solstice will be the first vehicle built on the Kappa vehicle underpinnings to reach showrooms."
As I said it is an in-house design.
