poll: best (or favorite) brand of gasoline??
Around here there are some cheap gas dealers, i.e. Maverick etc. These companies often sell gas cheaper because they purchase it cheaper. Many do this by buying "tank bottoms" often from many different manufacturers. Believe me, tank bottoms is not good gas and frequently has lots of moisture. Lots say that they notice a performance difference when buying cheap gas, and sometimes this is why. I say as a general rule you will get what you pay for. Chevron does work well for me. What irritates the dog out of me is that 0.472 cents on every gallon I buy goes to Uncle Sam and the State. Think how cheap gas would be if it wasn't taxed. But then we would have no roads or have to build them ourselves.
Actually Exxon and Mobil are one company now ExxonMobil (XOM), if you check their web site the description on Mobil and Exxon gas are exactly the same. And to answer your question, those are the two that I bought depending on availability.

No one uses: Arco, or Beacan?
Those are the cheapest stations here in my town in California...I think it's like $1.20 for 87...
Would you even notice the differance with "Cheveron with Techron?" I mean its a lot more money over here, and I think that gas is gas...

Amoco, or Mobil for me. I used Sam's Club gas because it was cheap, and I didnt get the gas mileage. Gas now up here in Duluth has just dropped again to a 1.03. and at Sams Club for the cheap stuff was .93 cents.

i usually use mobil since i know people who work at the local mobil, sometimes exxon depending on where i am. i dont know of any chevron stations anywhere near-by, so thats not really an option
I'm sorry to disappoint you but my friends dad is a truck driver who delivers fuel to gas stations. All gasoline comes from the same distillery. They get delivered to different gas stations and sofar the only company that i know that tries to change the chemical make up of the gas is Chevron with Tekron. The only thing they do is put add the chemical as if you were adding tea to a cup of water. So think about it. Pricey doesn't mean it's better.

<< i have to go with exxon 93 octane $1.09. i was reading car driver couple issues ago and mobile rated #1 then exxon 2.. exxon here in texas tiger mart is the cleanest gas station. >>
Which issue was that? I looked on Car & Driver's website and couldn't find the article. Please let me know. Thanks!
I look for the cheepest stuff cause I have to pay around $1.50 per/gallon so it blows. I filled up yesterday paying $1.47 and I thought that was a good deal, gas prices bite the big one here.
