2k1 civic vs. 02' lancer
hi guys, im posting to ask you guys why the 2k1 civic is better than a 02' lancer. i know asking in a civic forum is gonna have biased feedback but thats ok cuz im asking the same thing in the lancer forum. right now im leaning towards the civic because i currently have a honda and i am very happy with it. VTEC is awsome! BTW the im sorta asking your guys opinions for my mom who is gonna be driving the car. now i have never driven the lancer but i have driven the civic so im sure test driving them both on the same day would help... thanks in advance!

Rep Power: 0 If not for the resale value I should have gotten a Lancer. I like the Lancer OZ edition. But Im waiting for the evolution VII to come out then maybe I'll trade my civic with it

since u got an S2000, why is your mom getting a civic, cant she at least afford an Accord or something? and is your civic gona be a coupe or a sedan? I think a civic coupe looks better than a lancer but a lancer looks better than a civic sedan. I think the lancer is roomier so she should get that if she needs the space, but some one in my family had a mitsu and it had a lot of problems. Powerwise the lancer and the civic have about the same HP, but just cause the civic is a honda it doesnt mean its gona feel the same as your stook

If you haven't noticed, most of the Mitsubishi Lancer's parts are Japanese. (I think 90%? At least 85%.) It should be a good car to get in terms of quality. (I hope.)
If your mom is gonna get a new car... a SEDAN... go for the Lancer. Some people know I don't like the look of the Civic sedan, but the Lancer is more roomier. If this is for your mom, go for the Lancer.
If it's for you, go for the EVO VII. I think you'll have to wait until Spring to get it, though. (And to me, that would be even better... having a NEW, hot *** car as the weather gets warmer and summer comes closer.) If it's for you and your mom... EVO II (if she doesn't mind a fast car... otherwise, the Civic is still a good car.) =)

Rep Power: 0 sup jeff! yeah im trolling around right now cuz my mom needs a new car this year.... as you may already know her good'ol buick is gonna crap out on her soon. you guys ask why i get a s2k and my mom only get some civic? its because im a spoiled brat, jk, well kinda... yeah well my mom does not give a crap what she drives and only cares about reliability and good gas mileage. why spend a lot on her when she can supercharge my s2k with the money she saves on the civic

Rep Power: 0 Make sure your 2002 CIVIC drivers seat doesn't wiggle when you get it. Been a common problem for a lot of owners on the 2001 Civic's. The new interiors on the CIVIC are built real tight and sleek too. Otherwise it blows the boringass lancer away.

Rep Power: 0 My girlfriend wants a Lancer with auto and ABS but Mitsubishi won't bargain on their prices. My Honda dealer told her he would sell her a Civic for $100 over invoice. So she could get an EX Civic, auto with ABS and a moonroof (which the lancer doesn't have), and better resale value for about $800 - $900 less than a Lancer. It's all about who will put up the best deal. Here's the magic question, just be sure to ask them early on - "What's the absolute lowest price you will sell me this car for?" It worked for me. Just do your research at kbb.com first.

Rep Power: 0 i've test driven the lancer. Though it is roomier and the OZ has more accessories than the civic, i still think the civic is better. It's got like 7 or 8 more hp than the lancer....but then again wait for the Lancer EVO VII
When it came to pricing, the people at mitsu wouldn't let us bargain but the ppl at honda did...

Rep Power: 0 02 lancer oz rally edition sucks!! my little sister has one.. driven in it, it's not a good feeling.. not good as the 2k1 civic ex that i have. i raced my little sister car and it's slow.. she wasn'ts the driver my friend was it has a good take off.. but once vtec kinda kicks in the civic is gone.. the lancer evo VII is coming out june/july.. ask the dealer, he said around that time..

Rep Power: 0 My sister has an '02 Lancer and I've driven it some. Really nice ride, smooth, nice accessories, overall nice car. But, I still like my Civic better. It's more of a personal taste thing. Just go test drive both of them, and see which one you like better.
