"The new Mitsubishi Eclipse has been touted as one of the new cars that will save the ailing Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, but has halted sales of the car just six days after the launch. According to Automotive News, the company froze sales after receiving reports of flawed braking systems from its Normal, Illinois plant. Mitsubishi has reported the problem to the National Highway Safety Administration, stating that up to 1185 vehicles could be affected by the brake issue. The problem exists with the vacuum brake booster, and could cause brake failure. According to industry numbers, 44 of the cars have been sold to buyers, with 400 on dealer lots and the rest en route to dealers. MMNA has not stopped production of the new model, citing that the problem will be corrected in production as early as the end of this week. -- zerin@dubspeedmedia.com"

Nice car, too bad its such a pig though, thing is heavy as all hell.
Mistubishi is really reaching w. this one, it needs a few more models to prop up ailing sales and their recent economic downfalls.

and just when i'm hoping maybe mitsubishi has fixed their quality issues.....

They've already got problems with it... Oh well, I love the styling though.
They ditched the horrible look of the third gen and only used a couple of styling cues from it and went more with the second gen's look. I'm still a little sad that they didn't go with the concept-e's AWD hybrid design.

all these new cars look like friggin spaceships. wtf.
edit: i got bored and searched for more pics of the 06 eclipse and came across this. its prolly been posted before but i think it looks a hell of a lot better than the one that was posted here. i dk whats different about it tho.
maybe its the color or something. the front lip looks a lil different too.

Rep Power: 0 i dont kno how u guys like the interior. i think its nasty. look at all that big round cheap glossy plastic on the center console. how is anyone ever going to upgrade that tiny slot of a head unit? i do like how the e-brake is to the side of the shifter, and how the shift console attaches to the center console nice and high- more modern looking than our cheapo low driver-passenger divider.
