Question Modded exhaust problem!!!

Does anyone out here have an Invidia SUS 303 exhaust? If so how was your fitment? I've got a rattling problem, and am just looking to see what people have done to correct this. The pipe rattles against the body near the cat, where the pipe bends to the passangers side of the vehicle. The clearance is just too close... I know i could hammer out the bend in the sub-frame, that was already contured for the exhaust. Even put a dimple in the pipe. Although I'd rather not. Just really looking for you opinions....

I didn't have that exhaust but I had a problem with the exhaust rattling in the same place as you. I put in some motor mount inserts and it happens less often now, because there is less movement of the engine, so less movement of the exhaust system.

This has worked for some members, but you could goto an exhaust shop and get some longer exhaust supports (those rubbers things that connect the exhaust system to the hangers, i forget what they are called), im not sure if they would have to make them, or if you can just buy them, but it would get the exhaust system farther away from the body.

I've thought about the exhaust haingers. The only problem with that would be the hainger at the resionater. It's a funky triangle shape. If I did modd the rest, it wouldn't make sence, seeing that the pre cat and resionator hainger, would be the ones to directly effect this rattle. As far as putting in stiffer mounts.... I'd like to, but can't justify the expence, when I want to do the swap anyway... Don't get me wrong, the swap will get them. Thanks for the H/U though.

Skunk2ner is an unknown quantity at this point
i have the same problem with my exhaust. if the exhaust hangers don't work, i would get take it to a muffler shop or a place that can do mandrel bending and have the pipe custom bent to avoid contact with the body of the car.

usually the rattle is the rear section or piping hitting the rear sway bar. You can wrap the pipe with thermotec exhaust wrap and that should form a cushion.

I've thought about the wrap, but it doesn't stop the actuial problem, it's just a bandaid. The Invidia is nice, except for this, it doesn't get in the way anywhere else. I can understand this problem too... the piping is twice the size. A friends relative has an exhaust shop... maby it's time to call...
