$1500...what would you do?
Hey guys, I just got a bunch of money for graduation and I'm in the position of trying to 'invest' some of it into my car. I was wondering what you guys would suggest if you had the money to spend with my car...
here's what I have:
2002 Civic EX Coupe 5spd
-17" Tenzo R Passion 5 Rims
-30% Tints
-and then a few other things that dont really matter (shaved trunk, headlight bulbs, etc.)
I'm pretty set in the fact that the next thing I'm doing is a drop (Neuspeed Sports) and Struts/shocks (Tokico HP's). That adds up to about $500 with labor (rough estimate)...so now there's 1g left....
Just to give you some hints...Eventually I may turbo (not sure yet) ...k20a swap down the future isnt gonna happen. (keep in mind these cost a lot more that a thousand dollars, but I could always just hold onto it for now and use it later)...I dont want a body kit, (what I do want is the oem sides and rear with the type r front lip which comes to $675), exhaust was one route I was thinkin about...but like I said I'm undecided, so thats where you guys come in
what would you guys suggest next?

I would suggest the drop big time especially since your running 17's, just do it yourself, im 18 with no "taught" experience and I was able to install a full bag set up, so just follow the DIY for it and save yourself a couple hundred. Honestly if it was my car I would get new rims, nothing against yours but I and currently wanting new ones on my car, RH C5's Black with the Polished Lip in 18's is what I would get if I had 1500 sitting ready to be spent. But with your options blow it all on the drop, lip kit, and exhaust but keep the exhaust quiet and nice sounding, no more rice buzz is needed.

Scatman was actually gonna help me with the install soon...and like I said the drop and shocks are definite...
I totally agree with the exhaust...I was thinking either the Tanabe HM or the RS*R EX Mag (or something) but I cant get a sound clip of the last one to make a final decision

how does it ride being on air and how much did that cost u
Fug the car! Seriously, invest into a mutual fund. You'll be happy you did when you hit 24 and that 1500 turns into 50,000. My grandpa gave me that advice and i didn't follow. Had i done it, omg i would have so much money right now. I keep following the stock he told me to invest in and its been steadly rising. Seriously, you'll have all the time in the world for cars at 24. Play your money smart.

The ride isnt bad at all and it cost me about 1500 as of now with added things ive done. Not worth it if its a daily driver, little problems consistantly pop up.
Straight answer is: whatever floats Your boat, but since you're asking, I'd set it aside for my rally fund (untill I reach 10 grand) for a new rally-only AWD car, repairs & upgrades to meet regulations and a full season.

Thanks for the advice guys...
Jeffsta: I think you're right. The tanabe in the sound clips section didnt sound too loud, but I've heard of people getting better gains from the RS*R...plus it looks pretty good.
Chknmnky: I dont plan on blowing everything I have on my car, I'm just looking for a few things here and there to spice it up a little. Actually now that you mention it, a few days ago I opened up a seperate savings account with which I plan on investing here and there (I'm going to major in finance in college and hopefully end up as a stock broker or something similar). So I am saving some money on the side as well...
LikeaFerio: I do really want an EVO, incredibly bad. But I wouldnt want one before I finish college (I dont wanna deal with bringing it on campus). I plan on buying one a year or two after I get a decent job, so until then, the civic must suffice.

but yea... There is no mutual fund that will make 1500 into 50,000 by 24 years old
