I went to the Kaminari website and found this message
Is this really true? Has anyone heard about this?

We deeply apologize that Kaminari USA has ben forced to make this business decision, however our suppliers have drastically raised wholesale pricing due to production unable to meet demand. Most bulk supplies have been funneled toward military and aerospace industries. As soon as we can secure material at a realistic price structure, we will resume production.

with current research in science development, they are planning to utilize carbon for other applications... i read on NASA one time that they came up with some weird arrangement of carbon atoms into a hexagon where layers upon layers of this structure can form a pole that goes as high as our atmosphere without breaking...not that's some strong ****. Dunno if that's nasa's propaganda or something but that sounds pretty cool

and aren't carbon one of the most abundant material in the world? don't ppl turn into carbon ashes when u burnt them?
Kevlar is completely different from carbon fiber, its still synthetic and everything, but a completely different compound.
lol, I'm sure theres no global shortage of -carbon-, if there is, ****, we're all screwed.
The war in Iraq screws up one more thing...

Carbon really doesn thave much to do wth it..........the only thing that can be in shortage are the PAN fibers them selves........the rest of the process to make carbon fiber consists of adding chemicals such as oxygne and then heating.................so I think i may call BS on this one
