better gas mileage??
What kind of mods have you done to improve gas mileage? Gas prices SUCK, especially in California!!!
I've managed to squeeze out 36-37mpg out of my 02 Civic EX. Driving 70mph instead of 80mph helped out a lot, but it just sucks to watch everyone else pass by you. keeping the tires at 35psi seems to help a little too. I got an intake from ebay but didn't notice any improvement. (it did make the engine sound more aggresive though!) I tried some torquemaster sparkplugs too on the recommendation of a friend but didn't see any noticeable improvement. I got a cheap groundwire kit from ebay but it didn't do anything and actually some of the wires melted. Then I got the Sun Auto Hyperground and Hypervoltage and they worked great! got about 1-3mpg more with just those mods.
I've heard of getting more gas mileage by switching to Royal Purple oil, anyone have experience with this? I've also seen some heavy-duty magnets for the fuel lines which are supposed to get more efficiency, but I haven't heard from anyone if they really work or not.

any type of grounding system or voltage regulator system will do nothing but add a couple pounds to your car. none of those systems do anything of any value.
changing oil won't really give you better gas mileage, unless your current oil in your car is extremely dirty.
the magnets are also a gimmick.
keep your tire pressure up and drive at a lower speed. also, your defogger setting or air conditioning will reduce your mpg.

lol you're never going to believe this (im in orlando, fl btw)...but here's what i have done and what i get mileage wise.
Megan Racing header
Megan Racing downpipe/resonator combo
full 2.25" exhaust piping
Megan Racing 3" exhaust muffler
AEM cold air intake system
all of this can guarantee me 400 miles to a tank of gas and roughly 34mpg.
as a matter of fact, my BEST ever thus far (and yes, i DID run outta gas to prove it) was this past weekend. i did 497.2 miles, 13.4 gallons of gas (87 only for my Civic), and netted a 36.2mpg final number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all my friends that also drive 7thGen Civics in town hate me for this. idk what i did, but it worked and ppl envy me for that sometimes. all these fast cars in Orlando, but i get the best mileage bar none!...and in this day n age with ghey gas prices, im down with the sickness...err uhhmmm, slowness

got almost 41mpg last week on my trip from los angeles to san francisco. kept it going 80mph. key was to keep up speed by "feathering" throttle. also i was behind a volvo for about 100 miles. behind as in 5 car lengths back. tires were properly inflated to honda's recommended specs. i also ran the ac a few times. some ppl with manuals get 43-44mpg on 7thgencivic.com. as long as your car is in good shape (no engine mods will help your mpg usually). all it comes down to is how you drive. ppl believe they drive well by not going fast. but the key is to drive at a set speed. no heavy acceleration and no heavy braking. if you were to go avg of 60mph but you have to brake or accerlate due to traffic, you will probably use more gas than going 70mph without braking and accerlating.

i need to go for a F-E tank run to see what mine is although anything will improve from the 9-12 mpg i got in my grand cherokee b4 the vic. anyone know what a stock 5spd lx should get?
oh and if you need better gas mileage id say best thing is just make sure yout air filter is clean, dont rev it up too much, keep tire pressure at a constant 32-35 psi all around, if your rolling down hill throw it in neutral (if u got 5spd) actually just always put it in neutral whenever u can cus 800 rpm is better on gas than say 3grand or higher if ur rollin down hill in low gears

Does that include if you "top if off" I can pump a full gallon and a half after the first time it clicks off in my car.
Keeping your air filter clean really helps, i cleaned my filter this weekend and was amazed at how much easier the engine responded, we'll see how many mpg i pull on this tank to see if that helped. Im at 340 miles and a quarter tank left according to the gauge, looks promising!

its the topoff method most every1 does. the "neck" of the gas tank.
it IS possible to fill up with more gas than what is rated by the manufacturer. have you ever noticed that there is a small sign at the pump that says "Volume corrected to 15Celsius". like everything, heat makes things expand, and its no different with gas. so on cold days, you are paying for more gas than you are actually getting, and the opposite is true for hot days. its very slight, but can account for the .2gallon difference

well, i had my b18c civic with nitrous..
and i didnt drive it for gas mileage.
i still got an average of 29-33mpg. But not changing your ecu and doing things such as i/h/e cat, things liek that, run your car more lean and uses less gas per hp.
other ways to increase gas mileage is keeping windows up, taking out things you dont need in your car...reducing weight, reducing air friction..
there is a plastic guard you can buy online or from the factory that cups the rear bumper so as air doesnt get trapped....
keeping the tires inflated to the max safely and stay out of vtec or actually stay as low of rpm's as possible with out it bogging ( if you have stick)
and go on a diet... that cant hurt either... lol
i took out about 75_ lbs of just soudn materail in your car... count that with my spare tire and rear sectons, thats like loosing a person....not to mention removing your ps and a/c... that not only looses hp, but saves weight to....
but depends on how hard core you are...

I get 40mpg in my 04 EX
I just removed my cat and added a obx header and a straight pipe
gets me a good 420 per tank before the lgith comes on
next i am adding a UR crank pulley

I guess it beats having a tundra like my parents have tho so im still happy.

dont get any rim, tire package that is taller or wider than stock or a more sticky tread or heavier. then check every alignment angle to make sure nothing is being dragged or forced to move a way its not aiming. maybe use fuel system treatments......ive never used them so dunno

same size ive got, on 17's i havent tested my mpg yet but im in the middle of it now so well see.
anyone have an accurate reading of how much mpg they lost with an intake, haeader exhaust?

I've filled up many times over 13.5 and most receltly 13.55. The specs do say 13.2 so i guess they do make it a little bigger. This was my first post in like over a year I think! Thread
