well the club rsx guys feel as equal about the rsx not being droped as some of us feel it will be. i personaly dont feel it will be droped. there are too many cars out there that are based on other cars that are succesfull. but why dont we just wait a few months and find out instead of just everyone stating there hear say.

They had one of those at the dealer when I got my truck... honestly I wasn't that impressed with the stage1's. It looks like you pay lots of money for rice type stuff, it like a shift ****, body kit, big heavy rims and a goofy wing. Only performance parts where the exhaust and CAI that I saw, I was like all that money for that? Now the stage 3 with the supercharger was nice.

I knew they'd bump the hp up to 250 or more. that's awesome. I'd trade my vic for one in a heartbeat...plus some cash of course. lol I'll bet the rsx-R will be about $28-30K, what u guys think?
I love the rsx, but the civic si will be a better performer in every way (it won't have to meet the luxury tuning standards that Acura imposes on all of its vehicles) and will probably be less expensive than the current RSX-S.

But yes you are right... Stage 1 is mainly composed of cosmetics and what not... Wish I had the $$$ for a Stage 3...
Back to topic... Intruder is probably correct. Good info!

Intruder and _Viper_ are right. RSX is dead. It is also not selling well. Sales are down 12% for March compared to last year. It sells fewer units than all other Acuras save the NSX and RL. The RL is actually only about 500 unts behind the RSX for the year to date. To put it in perspective, Honda sells more than a thousand more Civic Hybrids per month than they do RSX. So. I guess it's a new k-series (k20a4?> for the 140 hp, LX and DX I'd guess, k20a3 for the EX, and k20a2 for the Si. As for killing the RSX, sadly i think Honda will. I was at my Acura dealer last week and he told me they've sold maybe a dozen 05's so far...they have like 5 on the lot, 1 type-S. Compared to dozens of TSX's and TL's. Also, Acura as a brand wants to move more upscale, a 22k sporty coupe doesn't fit. Shame, i love my DC5, and i think its demise wil prove as popular as that of the Prelude.
I think the new 1.8 will indeed be the D18. Look at those abysmal numbers, if Honda makes the new 1.8 a K series engine and it produces only 140HP, compared to the 1.8L engines that Honda used to make, I can't even begin to describe what a step backwards that will be. This will be a continuation of a trend since the 6th gen, just keep adding on 0.1L per year. I'll be the 9th gen will have a D19 engine it in or something like that, making a whopping 150HP. High revving, high HP engines are what Honda does best, just look at the S2K.

As you said, I can't imagine them destroking and deboring a K20 to make it a K18 and then cut the horsepower by 60. The 140 hp motor that was mentioned will be d-series. Logically, inreasing the bore or stroke by 0.1 a liter and then tuning or increasing fuel flow, adding a true vtec and bumping up the compression a few tenths should be enough to squeeze 13+/- hp out of a d17a2
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

Honda is just trying to compete with scion. I wouldnt be suprised to find out honda is making a 4 door civic with 200hp either. either way these added hp's are good...
as for the rsx being eliminated, i doubt it.. however it may just be in japan.. who knows.
