Question Selling car privately...

Hey i'm selling my 2003 civic ex coupe that has 43k miles on it. i was wondering if i should leave it with the mods or if i should part it out and sell it stock. i still have the stock 15 inch rims n all the other stock parts (except exhaust). which way do u think i'll get the most money?

sell it stock or modded?

stock of course. modifications only depreciate its value. You can offer them on the side though to the buyer.

if you sell it to a kid he might buy it modded (less for him to do)... but if you sell it to some old lady i doubt she wants a modded car

try looking for a kid to buy it. some people don't know they don't add any value... kids will be more attracted to it because it's already modded.

if you can't though, stock is the best way to sell.

Stock is always the best way. Try to sell it modded first, if you find that to be unsuccessful convert it to stock and then sell everything on ebay.

A little off topic, how did you put 43k miles on your car so quickly?

43,000 miles is not that high for a for a car that is like 3yrs old. I have a 03 and i have 47k on mine. Mostly highway miles. I WISH i had 18k on my car.

The most miles I have put on a personal vehicle in one year is 53k so 43k in two years isnt much.

I did alot of back an forth traveling to my job and gf's house at the time and it was 30 miles each way (which i often did twice a day), and i went to camp just about every weekend and that was 150miles each way. Also i would drive around and explore places for something to do.

my school is about 15 miles away and i go every day. so thats 30 miles there and back for 5 days. then i go to work which is 5 miles. then on the weekends i go downtown which is 20 miles there and 20 back. it adds up. plus i made a couple trips from here in orlando to daytona.

by the way, i think its funny how i started this thread about how to sell my car and now its a thread about everyones milage. lol.

sell it stock. sell parts separately

think about it, if u leave the mods on, kids may want it. but when it comes to selling, whose more likely to leave with ur car: the kid or the mother?

another fact is that the smart people avoid "modded" cars. put it to stock and they'll wont suspect unless there real smart about it.
