New to the Land of Civics and Seeking Input

Hey guys

I'm Paul and from the great white north of Canada. I'm getting ready to buy my first new car and I have my heart set on a 2002 Civic Coupe SI ( i know canada is a$$ backwards and the models off the cars differ between Canada and the U.S.). I'm also new to the car game so I'm here looking for some friendly advice.

Since i'm just getting out of university, i'm looking to first work on the exterior of the car. I plan to get the G5 Series ground affects kits from WingsWest, without the flares. Second, I'm settled on either the Mini Me Commando Style wing for the 01 and up Civic or if i hear back from blueflyer, the type of wing off of his car that is shown in the members page (or if anyone else knows off hand the make/manufacturer details)...thanks ahead of time.

I also plan on getting the APC Euro Taillights. I've noticed in the members pages there are alot of you owners out there with clear white front covers for your lights. I'd like to get some details on makes and what other changes i must make to get these for my car, or where i can look them up on the web.

Finally, i'll probably invest sooner than later in some rims/tires. I'm leaning towards getting ASA KA3 17x7.5 Chrome rims along with tires.

Basically what i'd like is to get feedback and to see if i'm heading in the right direction with my decisions on the products i have mentioned. I do plan to make engine and interior mods, but i think for this coming summer, i'll just work on the exterior of my new purchase.

Thanks ahead of time for your help and suggestions and look forward to hearing from whomever

Looks wise the 2k1 is great to work with. The clear lights are not covers and require you to remove your headlights, pry them open and remove the amber insert. Not for the faint of heart. Just remember what you want to do costs $$$ and if you can afford then nothing will stand in your way. Good luck.

if you want a quick glance of what a min-commando wing and a g5 kit would look on a car, swing by Spdrcrchk's members ride page, she has pics up of her car, with the g5 and the mini-commando

hey Voiceofed

Thanks for the info. I've seen pics of the G5 kit already at WingsWest site and i like the looks of it and the mini-me spoiler.

I would like to do more to the front of the car, but with the Canadian winters up here, it isn't always the best idea to add lot of extra's onto the car cause unfortunately I just cant afford a winter beater.

Does anyone have any other exterior mods they could suggest?? Maybe something i'm just overlooking to add a little spice.

Btw, i'm getting the car in Eternal Blue, if that helps out.

l8rs guys

Hey, sorry to post again, but was wondering, with the Eternal Blue Pearl, do you think a Metallic Window Tint would look alright?? Never seen it here in Canada, but curious to know what others thinks.

Also, being the newbie, when someone says "shaved emblems", i assume these means removed Civic or SI emblams off the car??

Thanks

Dont worry, already planning on undercoating and rust proofing the car. My brother has been doing car shows for years, with a Dodge (cough cough).....hey nobody is perfect right, lol. But i've been driving an 86 Acadian during my University years (cheap on gas and insurance) and the thing still looks new so I'm sure if my bro and i keep up our routines, my Honda will be around 4 a long time.

I was curious about a mirror tint also. and definately going to look into that as I agree i think with the Eternal Blue Pearl it would look sweet.

Ok Guys, please be patient with me, but have yet another question for those of you that may actually read my little thread.

I was just finally able to check out the Kaminari Site (having internet problems here), anyways, i really like the Front air dam that they produce, over what WingsWest offers with their G5 Body Kit. So my question is, is it a good idea to mix and match the manufacturer's? Say I take the Kaminari Front Air Dam, and get the Wings West Side/Rear skirts, do you think it would be to much of a change in the appearance of the car? Would it look consistant or inconsistant etc?

I also really dig the KTR II Wing from Kaminari, and i think that definately is more what i would like!!

So, I'd like to hear back on what you guys think, mix or match, or stay all with one manufacturer for body kit related parts. Thanks yet again.

Paul
