Washing Your Car
OK on a curious note. I have a black 05 EX special edition as as everyone knows black is a bitch to keep clean. I washed my car yesterday driving it from the car wash it now has a thin layer of dust and dirt 2 miles down the road.
So just for a poll how often do the rest of you wash your car? What do you do for your dust issues? and what do you find most effective in keeping the dust off your car, besides not driving and garaging it or covering it.
I wish there was sumthin like pledge that goes on wood and keeps it from getting dusty but for cars. Just general discussion. Let me know

My advise would be to get a California Car Duster, the dirtier it gets the better it works. Very soft and won't scratch your car.

yeah! the californa duster works really well! yesterday i Eagle One spray 'n waxed my car and the duster finished it off real nice
Well, mine's white, which I thought would be a lot of trouble to keep clean, but it actually looks OK until it gets REALLY dirty (which I never let happen
).
I've always washed her at least once or twice a month, but here lately, I've been giving her a bath about once a week. Getting to be time for another claybar/wax job, too...

I try to wash the thing once every two weeks or so, detailing it whenever necessary.

Black cars just attract dirt for some reason. I waxed it with a good layer of some spray on turtle wax with carnuba and that stuff is good. I just have to wipe off the pollen and dust every other day. I just hope it doesn't rain for another week or so.

I wash mine every other monday, and it gets waxed once a month. SSM stays pretty clean "looking" But I have a layer of brown dust and crap on all the windows 3 hours later. I can't belive we breathe that crap. I'm about to just give up washing the car altogether.
get some microfiber towels and meguiars nxt quick detailer. i also use the nxt wax on my black 03 and the paint had never had such a deep wet looking shine. its amazing. i also invested in a car cover that helps alot for dust and bird crap.

Of course I dry it. But then the gardeners come and rev up their blowers all over the neighborhood. Next thing I know my car is under a foot of dust again. AAARGHH!!!

Yeah those dusters work really well. I use it to try and keep all the pollen off my car right now.

I take my car to get HAND washed every saturday morning at a country club. 24.95 for the sickest car wash I have ever gotten. And yes, every saturday....unless its raining. I usually take my car to the gas station car washes when its raining just to keep it clean.

Yeah same here, I wash as often as I can. I like to do it myself. I find to actually be a stress-reliever. I usually check the weather to see if it's going to rain or not. Luckily mine stay in the garage, but living where I do, the pollen turns my car yellow and I usually hit it with the California Duster to get that stuff off. Works really well.
