benz window tint
benz window tint
hey just wondering... does anyone know what kind of tint they put on the mercedes benz cars? It's like a light blue (see attached). Has anyone done this tint and how much does it cost? I think it looks pretty sweet. I think it's some sort of anti-glare tint. Right now I've got a 50%black all around. It's sweet looking on the 7th gens but thinking i might want something alittle different. i dont think that is tint. i think that is just the glass with uv low emission properties. otherwise if you got it tinted you would have to tint over tint and i dont think mercedes is ghetto like that.

the blue "tint" is not tint... its the glass
hondas have a green tint to the glass
if you tint your windows "light blue" everything in the interior will be that color... Gay
Mercedes does not have tint...

Yea our car has green tint thats kinda built in. Thats why when u look at the window you see circle bubbles in it. I can take pics and show u if you want plus on my car invoice is says green tint.
Benz does tint some of their cars with blue tint, I know my old 525i 91' came with blue tint stock from factory. Quite nice. But its not like tint tint, its tint inside of the windows. Dunno why...guess u can always call and ask.

Well what I hear is the film is inside the glass, not on the top or bottom of it. I think it has something to do with keeping the glass integrity together when in a crash. Or to make sure the glass shatters into small pieces instead of big ones in a crash. I guess....not sure...

I have seen lots of things that mercedes benz can do "getto." I personally think mercedes are junk. I work at a shop that specializes in them and none of the people that work at the shop own mercedes... Yeah they have some nice stuff, but you gotta pay for it. Don't get the idea that our shop hates mercedes. We love them. They tend to break down alot, and the parts cost alot, and we make a ton of money off of them!
i believe its window dye and comes from the factory like that. im not sure if i remember correctly, but i think its 95% tinted meaning only 5% sunrays are blocked... which just about every vehicle sold today has. idk why honda choose green, but it gives my tint a nice reflective look with black tints at direct sunlight.
as for UV protection, im sure benz applied that as well since your paying 30g. that can be bought and applied to any window as well.
as for the thread starters question, you can get similar effect by tinting your windows with blue tint using a very light percentage. that would mean removing your black tints and replacing them with a light blue shade. IMO dont do it, save the money unless your all out show?
removing tint = $50
new light tint on all 5 windows = $150
more sunrays in your face with the new lighter tint = priceless
