The New Scion Tc !!

Well, I think we’re getting a Scion Tc.

My wifey has been driving a 99’ Plymoth Neon Highline for about 6 years now. Unfortunately she bought that POS about a week before our first date, so I didn’t have a chance to talk her out of it.

Anyhoo… It’s time to get the wifey a nice sporty little car. We were looking at the basics like the Acura RSX type S, the Toyota Celica GTS, Mazda Miata, and a Civic Coupe.
The vic, just isn’t her thing, I love mine, but it’s lacking in Power and everyone and there Grandmom has one.
The Miata is too small, she wants to be able to tote the dogs around, but the convertible does have a cool factor.
The Toyota Celica is a good runner up, but Hands down the RSX looks better, and this is the last year for the Celica so that’s like a Blah factor.
So we’re pretty set on the RSX, we debated a little about he type S or not, I talked her into it, it’s like $2k more, and the car is already 20k, so what the heck, right?
So we’re shopping around, and I’m reading Consumer Reports or the such and I see it says that you should also look at the Mini Cooper or the Scion Tc.

Mini Cooper … ROFLMAO…

Hmm… I forgot all about this Scion Thingy, the Xa and The Xb are just butt ugly, so I think I just dismissed it. But it’s a Toyota, so it’s a good build and a reliable engine.

So I show my Wifey some pictures and she’s digging it, It’s nice looking.

So we’re going to a restaurant last Friday, and we park next to one, we give it the look over and it’s pretty nice, the sunroof is huge, it’s a clean interior. Then we get on the internet and look over the prices and the stats:

HP 163, Torque 160.. Hmm.. the RSX S is 200 HP but only 140 Torque…
I bet it’s a peppy little car in the low end.

Price $16,050 plus any options you want, but it already includes, the moonroof, Cd player, power windows and locks, 17” rims (nice looking), ABS brakes, Knee Airbags (WTF are Knee airbags) and a whole bunch of junk.

Really out off all the options we’re only going to get the side impact air bags for an additional $650.

So total, we’re like $17,000 plus taxes and tags. (includes deliverery)

So we go to test drive one. Well they only had an Auto (blah) but let me tell you that thing is peppy. Getting upto 55mph it puts you in your seat as much as my Probe V6. And this car is just NICE. The interior is just great, I can’t think of any other words for it, it’s just clean. And the seats are the best material I’ve seen, there kinda like that foam pillow that retains it’s shape…

Another Thing I like about it, is it’s priced like the Saturns, no haggling.

So anyway.. I just wanted to get some opinions, feedback, rambles, rants anything…

What do you think of the Scion Tc ????

Don't discount those Mini's man...

They handle unbelieveably well, and in the supercharged "S" form, they can acclerate just as fast or faster than anything you've mentioned so far.

Personal taste, I guess. I'd sport a mini, and kick serious *** in AutoX.

sorry...my opinion of the mini is the same as my take on the new beetle and the Miata....GIRL CARS. I find them very emasculating. Too cute and the beetle comes with a damn flower holder for god sakes..lol

Well this is for my Wife,
And she has very nice ****, thank you very much,
j/k.. but not about the *****.

anyhoo, I have a good freind with the Cooper S, I wasn't that impressed while driving it. It’s got a supercharger and is only pushing what 160 ish ??? But it does handle nice.
But Mainly it’s just not a good looking car, IMO and more importantly in my wife’s opinion also.
