Rep Power: 0 I've only got 103k on mine and it's an 03.. looks like he's got me beat. I have an auto tranny, in regards to the post above, and I usually rev it to about 4000-5000 rpms and I haven't had any problem. I also do most of my cruising on a highway though going about 80 hitting about 3200 rpms in 4th, I think.

Rep Power: 278 Good swap candidate. Yes, the D17 has a design life of 250,000 miles. But that means that it SHOULD run that long. This also means that properly cared for it could run much longer.
I'm also wondering about the 5 speed..... I'd love to get 250,000 miles out of my car with the original engine/tranny.
Lets see.... I average about 5k a year.... I somehow don't think I'll have the car 50 years OR live to be 91!!

Rep Power: 0 Ive had my 02 Ex for about 9 months and have driven it only 3k miles. When i had my 99 i put around 1500 miles on it just learning how to drive. Sometimes, i would drive around the beach area ( Seal Beach, Huntington Beach) for about 200 miles at a time. The total number of miles on my 02 is about 18,500 and i doubt ill ever see 200k+ miles . My 99 had 90000 about this time of last year, and i thought that was a lot. Tranny going out at 30k? Well, maybe on a Chevy or Ford.

Rep Power: 0 damn! i wonder if that is the original engine? when i had my old 4thgen with about 210k miles on it, it had 3 different engines in it to get it to that mileagel. that sure would be somethin if the d17 went that long with all original internals and engine block.

Rep Power: 0 02 LX about to turn 60k on it. Got it in Sept. 2004 at 36k.
So thats 60k - 36k = 24k / 7 Months = 3,428 miles a month / 30 days a month = 114.00 miles a day
Or something like that.

Rep Power: 0 that's a lot of miles, I've only got 14,000 on my 04 vic bought in 01/04. Just think how much that guy would have spent on gas if it was at current prices.

Rep Power: 0 My 01 EX has 42,000, I got it in June of 01. Still drives good, no problems but a soft clutch (even new) and had front struts replaced under warrenty.
