I'm really asking why? Does it show the similarties of the cars or something. I don't know what its about, that's why I'm asking.

Having studied mechanical engineering in college, I found the illustrations interesting, and appreciate them for what they are.
These types of drawings show the different mechanicals of a vehicle's components, and are used when the manufacturer is designing and engineering the product.
As another example; here is a nice "cut-away" of the Hybrid engine
I wish I could design something like that someday...
