K-VicboostVsStockSTI
Could iceburgs *fastest* civic beat a bone stock Sti? To date i think he has done 11.55@ 120 mph. and somewhere close to 500HP, could he take a STI in a 1/4 Mile? What you guys think?

your a funny guy
seriously, it is a no brainer since you phrased your question so specifically...
STI stock quarter mile times are around 13 seconds:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=600230
so 11.5 is QUITE a bit faster, i mean almost 2 seconds faster, when you're going at speeds excess of 100 mph, that's a CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAP load of distance...
so ur decision? vic + k20 + turbo man! ^_^

i would just go wiith the sti in your case. There less drastic mods involved in getting a 300hp car to 500hp then a 127hp car to 500hp. I would just wait for the 8th gen si and mod rather then do a k20 swap.
STis run like mid 13s.. they used to be rated at 12.9, but no one could run that time... they aren't crazy fast as everyone thinks they are... a mildly modded sti on the street might beat iceberg cuz of traction

sti would be the no brainer but a k20 swap plus turbo and build up can turn into something beautiful and added with a sleeper look it would be eating an STI but thats just what I would rather do

too much to drop into a civic. Lets do a lttile est. 17k (for ex), 4.5k (K20a2), 2.5k (labor + mount + mis), 5.5-6k (internal + bottle end to run high psi), 4.5k (for a turbo kit + upgrade turbo).
Thats is 34-34.5k, that is enough to go out and buy a reliable STi/Evo. Not to mention about the manitance and other $hit.
Sry for those people that want to do a K20a2 Turbo.

i know they are fast! i wish i had that car!! its probably my favorite car in a reasonable price range!! i was just saying.. they were really over rated when they first came out (saying they ran 12s) when in fact then didn't!! And i dont know about the 05s.. im just talking about stis in general!
I mean, people think STIS are outrageously fast.. its kind of a joke to compare a stock STI to a k20 running 26 psi in the quarter.. I dont know if its just me or everyone, but when i see a evo or STI i think that car is fast and i have a lot of respect for it, but if i see a cobra or vette.. i dont really care about them, when in fact, they are faster (the new ones)
Well i think you should price it out and see what comes out cheaper, with insurance too. If you want to be running 11.5's like iceburg, thats a good 10k worth in parts he put on, on top of the price of the motor. and if its done right and your not retarded, you wont "melt" that honda motor

^^ yea your right..i started question wrong. I guess whats really being asked here is...is it worth it to put k20..turbo..alot of internals..into a fwd car(civic)..Or is it better just to go STI..which comes out spanking 235.16hp to wheels at just i think 14lbs of boost and little mods that go along way with HP.
