Pedestrian crash tests? I wonder how an Excursion would fare...
this was on http://www.4car.co.uk/ - hopefully the 3 door will have similar
performance
Honda's Civic has received the best score for pedestrian safety in the latest NCAP
crash tests. The five-door model tested was awarded the full three stars for its
pedestrian protection, the best recorded by Euro NCAP (New Car Crash
Assessment Programme) so far in this category. Max Mosely, Euro NCAP
Chairman and FIA President, said: "The Civic's pedestrian protection performance
is the best recorded by Euro NCAP so far. Just falling short of our four star
threshold, it achieved a 72 per cent pedestrian score. This clearly demonstrates
what car designers can do to improve the safety of vulnerable road users." So if
you're about to go and play in the traffic, make sure it's a Civic that runs you over.
The Civic also scored four stars out of five in the frontal and side impact tests for
its occupant protection, putting it amongst the best in its class.
