HELP!

My Civic has a factory cd player in it but I wanted to get my Sony Xplode cd player installed into it. A friend of mine installed the Xplode into it, but when he did NOTHING else worked on the car; Even the remote keyless entry, the dome light... nothing. So, he called Circuit City and they said you couldn't install an after-market cd player into a 2001 honda civic because all everything works off of the factory cd player. this just didn't sound right to me, and i don't know a lot about all of this so i was just wondering if anybody knows if this is true or not? and what should I do? THANKS SO MUCH!

Thats not true it was only true of the older civics 6th generation civics. The new civics aren't like that. I know cuz i have an aftermarket radio that just proves how retarded the people that work at circuit city and other places like that are.

I've got an XPLOD HU and have had no problems. 6th generation Civics had the keyless remote tied into the stereo harness somehow. Ours does not.

iam reminded of the nice and helpful people at circuit city everytime i i have a clarion cd player, it works just fine.....a. check your fuse box...maybe during the install some weird short occured b. check the wiring....make sure you didn't cut anything you shouldn't have.... c. take it to a shop that knows what their doing and pay the man......good luck.

I've installed a Xplod from Sony and everything's working, including all the lights. Don't have keyless entry though. The guy who installed it said he had to hide stock radio from 6th generation behind the glove compartment to get the keyless entry to work.
