Pretty cool if it actually happens! Honda may finally see the light!

250 hp, sounds like a TSX engine because the TSX's competition has 2 engines. Also, it is too low to be an optional engine for the TL or even the RL. Next gen RSX maybe? That'd be awesome, or maybe even an optional engine for the underpowered SUV's.

i'll believe that when i see it. it would be extremely uncharacteristic of honda to turbo charge a production vehicle. honda has always stated they do not like the inefficiency of a turbo, and poor gas mileage obtained, and would rather use technology like vtec to obtain more power from a small engine.
And why would they put it in the tsx? That would be an odd car to turbo. Plus they kinda contradict themselves.....
it's also doubtful that honda would suddenly put an entirely new powerplant in an already existing tsx, unless it was a next gen tsx.

Honda is bringing to market its first US application of a turbocharger in the form of a 2.4L Turbo. This engine will presumably be fitted into the Acura TSX
he hinted that it would not be affixed to the current K24 engine that Honda uses in the TSX

That is true, however, most of the news in the article is or seems to be accurate. A 1.8 L engine in the Civic would sound reasonable while a 1.5 L engine is almost expected for the Fit. I'm saying it could be possible because it sounds good, but yeah, they have stayed away from it (turbo's) so I don't know...
honda should never come out with a turbo honda, they have no need to... I doubt it will increase their sales and might even make their sales go down when people who don't want a honda for "racing" don't buy it because it's turbo.
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

sounds like speculation to me.

any car company could come out with a good turbo charged engine.. of course it would take proper research, testing.. ect.... but not many companies do.. they could care less what the import scene wants.. everything we want is offered as after market. It all about selling cars and making money and i'm sure honda knows what they are doing by staying with the same types of cars for the past decade. The thing if civics are turbo charged, fast or slow, civics are still going to be bought.. unlike the srt4 where the only reason it is bought is because of the engine... there no point for honda to make a performance car, their acura line is already good enough

i doubt those are actaully new engine designs, they are just variants of engines, probalby variants of the K series, and D series. Historically speaking the vtec engines dont work that well with turbos right? Supercharging works better. Same concept for BMW engines becuase of their variable valve timing system. correct me if im wrong. actually honda does make a car with a turbo out the factory. Turbo Diesel Euro Accord:

i doubt we'll see a turbo on the si at least not the one in the US. They might put in the Type R civic in Europe. I dont really for see honda putting in turbos. It seems to go against there philsophy of being green. I do see honda developing hybrids though for the smaller engines. Honda seems more inclined to add a hybrid engine to add more hp to there cars not turbo. With the hybrid engine, you get better mpg and more torque. Business wise that seems to make more sense, considering the kind of person that buys turbo cars makes up a very small population of the car buying public. You also have to consider gas prices are not going to be going down anytime soon, with the economic boom in China creating a huge demand for oil and the fact more people can afford cars then before.

their are honda vehicles that are impressive in stock form. nsx, s2000, the type-r's, etc.
if honda ever did a factory turbo, my bet is it will be only available in japan with a limited production
i highly doubt honda would slap a turbo on their cars, seeing as it would compromise their reliability factor, but now that most jap cars are reliable just like them, guess they are trying to stand out more now

to get a lil bit more
