civic with awd?
i did a search and could not find any info.
recently around where im from a few fwd cars have been converted to awd and that got me thinking.
do you think its posible to have a civic with awd? i dont know a lot on this topic so i was wondering what would be needed, how much cash do you think. what mods would need to be done ect.
i think it would be interesting to do so thats why im asking.

Ok, well, yes you could. You could use all Ferio parts (since its a civic) but there would have to be a shietload of customizing parts and the overall cost wouldnt be that low either. Basically, you have to follow the life rule: ALL IT COSTS IS MONEY

Now, its gonna be a lot more than $4,000. I have been looking into an AWD conversion (I will give no details due to secrecy unless it blows up) and its looking at running just under $12,000.

Actually, thinking about it, it might now be. My model includes an engine swap so disregard that previous post, and just check around, hopefully its surprisingly cheap.

keep in mind the awd on the ferio is not real awd. it's fwd that kicks in some power to the back wheels when it detects slipping.
the owner of the shop i take my car to just got back to me and said ya it can be done but who knows how long the car would be out of commison due to all the fabrication. plus it wont be as reliable.
i guess due to all the man hours involved and running as much psi as i want to run this summer i dont think its worth it for me personaly i guess.

find a awd CRV donor (same chassis) and a friend who's good at welding. Then spend the next year building a Civic that's cost more than a WRX, but still doesn't perform nearly as well.

The way I would if any one wants to sign the blank check, would be to use the k24 block and drive train, maybee the k20 top half and some custom drive shaft and axles, then sleaved, forged and bosted up to around the 500 hp mark, then it would be worth the work, but unless you go full tubular frame and change suspension geometry on the car it would be much better to put half that money into a WRX or somthing that has already had all the fat R&D cash put into its design
