sports car shootout in road and track
I can't post the article but here are some highlights. They did a 9 car sports car shoot out, and here is the final rankings.
9. Slk 350
8. Nissan 350z 35th Anniversary Edition
7. Bmw Z4 3.0
6. Dodge Viper SRT-10
5. S2000
4. Lotus Elise
3. Porsche Carrera S
2. Boxster S
1. C6 Vette
I can quote some of the article however.
They managed a 13.9@100.2mph in the 1/4 mile, .91g on the skidpad, and 69.7mph in the slalom. (the S2000 has tested higher by other mags at .94g and 70.3mph)

Coming into this test, no one gave the S2000 any serious consideration. It was simply a car meant to fill a spot as Honda’s sports-car representative. (since the NSX is likely to be discontinued next year). *note…this is a hint the S2k will NOT be discontinued, unlike some here who have posted that it will. And since this head-turning 2-seater met all of the sports-car criteria, we thought “what the heck”….. “What the heck??” was more like it after a few laps in the S2000. This supposedly old car cut up the West Loop like a skilled surgeon with a scalpel, posting a sub-70 second lap time. (one of the fastest) It’s amazingly tossable, fun-to-drive nature put it among the favorites on both days at the track.
The car manages to pull from about 3000rpm, making it unnecessary to constantly change gears when the flow of traffic fluctuates. But some consider that a pity because this Honda 2-seater still has the BEST gearbox in the business. It was the only car to score a perfect 20 in the Gearbox category.
The S2000 scored the most points in the value department. It’s $32,950 sticker price is the lowest of the group, undercuttong the Porsche Boxster S by nearly $20,000.

it ranked higher than the elise??? kind of hard to believe. wait, is the list going from last to first? then how the hell is the vette in the #1 spot? that one is kind of puzzling also. never would have guessed that one with cars like the viper and porscha (multiple) on the list. i mean muscle i can understand, but refinement? the whole interior is made of plastic.
nothing against any of the car on the list...just saying.
