The skyline was cruising at a constant speed. Even I can make a video making it look like I'm beating a Pagani Zonda or a Bugatti. When the crx slowed down, you would have seen the Skyline zooming by really fast... And lets say the civic has the ability to beat the skyline, there's no way that it would beat it by freakin' 10 car lengths. Think about it guys.

And look at the video again carefully, the 2nd time they supposedly race, you can see the Skyline's brake lites come on...
Also, the rest of the traffic is going at the same speed as the skyline in the background. Does this mean everyone on the hiway was racing? This was a joke. Can't believe you guys are falling for this bs. On the contrary, this civic is REALLYYYYYYYYYY slow.

either the skyline wasnt trying or everyone was racing. but really, that civic is damn fast. just listen to it, its a beast. even if the skyline was trying, i believe the civic wouldve won. the skyline is not the best car in the world, and even if i could have any japanese car, i would not pick it...i would get a s15 silvia spec r.
logan, the skyline GTR (95) is an inline 6 twin turbo and diplaces 2568cc and produces 280HP/271 ft lbs torque. why would you take an inline 4 single turbo that displaces nearly 500cc less (2000cc) than the skyline, has 250 hp and only 202 ft/lbs of torque. im curious unless you just like the body style or what not.
i'd also like to point out, that it doesen't give you '*****' when you decide to race a car way out of your league. You might be stupid, idiotic, moronic, dumb, naive, cocky, or whatever. but your *********, if anything, probably shrink. Here's an example: the day i got to test drivea challenge stradale,.. I took it onto PCH. between lights, this moron staring at my car pulls up in a 2003 ford mustant GT. he had a chance at beating a 425hp v8 ferrari. anyways, just because he challenged me and.. obviously lost miserably, i can't say he had *****. maybe a brain tumor, but no *****. wish i could say he wasn't trying, but damn he had an angry face!!!
so seriously, in retrospect no he doesen't have ***** for racing a skyline. i just had to download a bunch of bullshit to watch that video on this computer instead of going downstairs, and the skyline wasn't one to be floorin it. it was very obvious what happened. I laugh at anyone who judges the awesome power of a skyline when they haven't even shifted gears in one!!

if youre going to criticize me about the skyline, at least get the year right. thats a r32, not r33. the r33 was made in 95, not r32. oh yea, thanks for telling me the displacement and power figures the skyline has, because that information is so hard to come by and i dont have a clue as to how you found that out.
dont get me wrong, id much rather have a skyline than a civic. but, you cant just compare power numbers, weight is a BIG factor. you can tell the by the way that civic sounded and pulled, regardless that the skyline was just cruising, was a very quick car.

well actually, jar jar binks; me owns 1 mac, 1 linux and 1 new pc. but me thinks thats not the point is it?
the question was, and this applies to any skyline rather, not that crappy civic:
why you would take a silvia spec R, powered by a SR20DET inline 4 single turbo, over a skyline powered by a Twin Turbo inline 6. simple because of weight?

you might be right about weight (lets use the 2002 NUR as a benchmark) weighs in at 3672 while the silvia spec R weighs in at 2734. but engine wise, don't be tellin me i can't compare the numbers. because power wise, the s15 gets owned. weight wise, it is definately lighter.

but i would still take the spec r over the skyline, not because of the stock power, or even that the skyline would make more power after both have been completely built. i would take the spec r because it can easily do 500+ whp and can weigh alot less. yea i know the skyline can lose weight too, and could have an even better power: weight ratio. the spec r will look better, have a power:weight ratio thats good enough for me, and im bias to FR and silvia's/180sx's, because i had 2 s13's.

A skyline is a mid 13 second car out of the box, there are a pretty decent amount of cars out there that can beat a skyline stock for stock, let alone a monster turbo'd CRX.
Contrary to popular ricer belief the Nissan Skyline is not the best car in the universe.... get over it.

lol j/k. My cousin ran 12.8 on a 97 TT just by cranking up the boost a few lbs. Im sure the skyline can do the same. Thread
