Someone seems to be thinking with me! But yeh. I had a pathfinder and my family has a shared Landrover Discovery. the gas consumption is just painful on the wallet. A 1/4 tank on our Discovery costs $17! that almost a full tank for me.
I think our fuel economy is a great feature/benefit of civic ownership. Thought this was a great way to convert those SUV drivers!

I find that ever since i have remote start on my car. My AVERAGE MPG is like 25.. I keep my car in good condition too! Oils are regularly changed, air filters are clean! tire pressure is correct!.

I live in a metro area so my daily comutes are really 25-28mpg. but when i go on trips that are 90% hwy i get unbelievable gas mileage. i went round trip to Atlantic city from Manhattan on half a tank of gas!
Thats 261 miles total on 6.6 gallons of gas. 39.54 mpg! I was cruising btwn 70-80mph
Try that in a SUV! I love my civic! All i need is a used s2000 and i would be content for a loooooong time.

Everytime I think of the fuel efficiency I also quickly remember that it's still not a hybrid, so what's the point? ...it's like having a bumper sticker that says "I'm pretty OKAY on gas, maybe a bit better than average".

Well i hear that hybrids do not get near the advertised mpg. A coworker has a 04 prius and has confirmed that. more like 45 mpg hwy. so thats not much better than a normal civic. hybrids are still a new technology and should get much better with time. i would expect a 2010 pruis to be getting a true 70mpg at 200hp.

Great? Awesome. Nearly the best of ANY car that is non-hybrid or diesel.

you could always put it on a picture magnet and then put PDA screenfilm stuff on the back so it dosent scratch the paint.. then you can take it off whenever you want..
