The car in the pic is a Nissan Maxima. The bottle heater was left on for about 2.5 hours according to the owner. He also says a pressure relief valve failed to function. The onwer of the company that makes the nitrous system in questions makes several counter claims. I wonder if this went to court and how it turned out considering in happened in '99.

Rep Power: 376 so if he left the bottle heater on, and you're not supposed to, then he can pretty much plan on not getting squat.

Rep Power: 0 damn! that sucks!
the first day I hooked up my bottle heater, I forgot and left it on w/ the car off and bottle closed and remembered like 1 1/2 hours later... I ran outside and opened the bottle and the pressure gauge shot up to like 1250psi! I quickly turned on the ignition and purged the sheit out of it.
Right after that, I hooked the 12V to the bottle heater switch up to the HU remote wire instead of a straight 12V hook-up so it could never be on w/ the car off. MUCH better way to do it imo
anyway, sucks for that guy

...safety blow off valves don't even blow until 3000 psi, you were almost half way there.

Strange.
Strange.
the "explosion" would have been flameless. It was merely the pressurized tank that blew to pieces. kinda like popping a balloon, but a million times more "pop".

still scared the hell out of me. forgetting once was enough - couldn't take that chance again
