2002 civic tail light modification....helpa
The deal is, anyone who has a 2002 civic knows that the reverse-light section on the tail light is pink. I don't know why the hell honda would do such a thing, I would rather have them white (clear). I am wondering, before i take the thing apart, is there any way to remove that pink part while keeping the rest of the housing the same? ive seen so many variations of tail lights for our civics, i can't see what's wrong with the stock ones with that small exception.
I know what you are talking about. I called my dealership and told them what the deal was and they replaced them at no cost. They gave me some hassle, but I just told them that they should back up their quality guarantee and they did. Good luck.

the way to do is open the casing up, getting a dremel tool and cutting it out. not the whole piece though, i think its a clear red piece over the clear piece, so cut through the first level, not both.
someone tell me if i'm correct, because i thought i remember reading about this in another forum.

sedans or coupes? if you are a sedan, you are SOL, the 03 is when they moved it to a clear reverse lens, or if you are overseas, they were clear as well... as for coupes, i never knew they had pink reverse lenses

Gearbox has cut the pink pieces out from his taillights and they do look pretty good. But you gonna to seal up the hole very good to avoid water getting in. Otherwise, you'll get a pretty nasty dull look on the reflectors at the back of the bulb. Moreover, clear reverse lenses do exist!!! e.g. mine
