why eg???
ok i've been searching and searching to find out why people here call their 92-95 hatches "EG" civics when on their US vin # the real code for a 92-95 hatch is EH2 the only EG civic are the 93-97 civic del sol which are EG1 and EG2 ive tried asking some of my friend but they have no idea why, also it is the same story with the 97-00 civic people call them EK but in reality they are EJ??
are the EG and EK codes for the civic type R in japan? and if so why people over here in the us call them like that fi some one knows about this please tell me because for the last 2 hours ive been trying to figure it out.

The Civic Type-R did not come out until the EK model run, and the EG is basically the chassis code for that particular car. It is found in the hatchback only VIN. The EH2 you speak of is for the coupe. Just like the EM2 is the 7th gen coupe, but the EP is the hatch.

the hatchback models have different chassis codes than coupes and sedans.
EG = 92-95 civic hatch
EH = 92-95 civic coupe/sedan?
EK = 96-00 civic hatch
EJ = 96-00 civic coupe/sedan?
i think the integra 94-01 is the same though for coupe and sedan; DC2? someone clearify

no look at a couple of ebay auctions for hatchback civics and look at the vins
eh2= hatch 92-95
ej6 =hatch 97-00
eh9=coupe 92-95
ej8/1= coupe 96-00
Being a hatchy owner ill help ya out on this one.
EG is called bc the Civic SiR in Japan with the b16 is has EG134etc in its startign vin. Ours is actually EH, but we call it the EG for the JDMness.

Can you cram a 13B-REW into a FC3S? That'd be a fun ride.
Yes it can be done...it's a fairly simple and common swap.
FB 1979-1985 equipped with a 12A rotary engine, and an optional 13B. In Japan 13BT was in limited availablity.
FC3S 1986-1992 equipped with a 13B NA rotary and in 1987 the 13BT was introduced. It was called the "Turbo II" but many people mistake it for a twin turbo which it is not. It is dubbed the Turbo II because it is the second turbo rx-7 to come from Mazda.
FD3S 1992-1996 US 2002 Japan equipped with what we all know as the 13B-REW. The beautiful sequential twin turbo setup that eliminates turbo lag and makes ungodly amounts of power from a 1.3. The body was all aluminum, which allowed for a very light sports car, but look at it funny and it'll dent.
Other Rotaries of interest include:
The 1990 Mazda Cosmo and the 1967-1968:
Sorry I don't know the chassis code, this car is very rare as it is. I can't find the chassis code so if someone knows please enlighten me. This car was actually the only mass production 3 rotor car to be released. It is equipped with a 20B-REW (although a lesser 13B-REW is available.) This is the same motor found in the 900 HP RX-8. Believe it or not, this was the first car to ever be released with GPS navigation system. Pretty neat stuff back in 1990. These cars never made it to the states, but they are more commonly found in 1.3L trim throughout asia and australia. Another interesting fact is that in 1967 the Cosmo was released as the world's first rotary powered car with 110 hp. In1968 after Mazda participated in "Marathon de la Route," an 84 hour endurance race, the cosmo sport was released with 128 horsepower. Both were twin rotaries (10A) displacing only one liter which shocked the automotive community.
787B: Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance Championship winner: 4-rotor 654 CC engine, 700 PS at 9000 RPM. The Renesis is the direct decendant of this NA rotary. It won the 1991 Le Mans Championship making Mazda the only Marque to ever win this coveted race. This race has also seen the likes of the GT40 from Ford and many incarnations from Aston Martin. The title of all endurance races.
RX-8
Chassis code: SE3P. It is also argued that this is actually the FE, but the VIN and many indications that this is not an RX-7 (mainly the obvious nameplate) point to this being an SE3P. Equipped with a 13B Renesis, it is the most powerful mass produced NA rotary to date. Only 17 HP less than the 13B-REW twin turbo in stock form.
B-Series pickups.
Old Old school Proteges: back then they were called the rotary familia. 70's cars.
RX-2 through the RX-5. Rotary compact cars of the 70's.

^^^ Nice, I could never win that damn thing...every time I got into the game and started making progress something would come up or I'd delete my file...Oh well...Anyone wanna send me their 100% complete card so I can copy it?
i got like 96% on that game, i guess its because of a couple of damn F1 races that I can never win and all these bronze medals in my driver license tests. If you are having trouble winning the races, try to use super hard racing tires like i did so you can catch up on your opponents pit-in time.
