Haters....

I was on Vw forum called VW vortex... and some lady who has a vw gti was talking bout her honda civic and everyone was bashing on her.... so i stepped in and was like basically that i respect all cars but personally there is no shout of a doubt that honda is much better... it might not be faster but being better is true b/c the reports so it....

Honda Civics got the highest retail value
-Vw worst used cars to buy (according to consumer reports)
-Vw one of the highest depreciation rates
-Most recalls and stupid problem such as falling windows (defective window regulators, electrical problems, timing belt is defective)

I showed the vwvortex members all these reports and they shut up...

Personally i dont hate on cars but my bro got a 2003 Vw jetta and he hates it the damn windows fall the check engine light is always on... and the car is starting to lose power... THATS why he is getting rid of it for a 02 Accord coupe

I told the people on the vw forums this and they were shocked to see how a person who has a vw would sell it for a honda

all i gots to say is that getting a honda means a trouble free world.. and all those haters should stay quiet b/c according to reports hondas are hell alot better...

damn after that arguement on the volkswagen forums i JUST HATE VW now lol

that is awesome. thanks for having our backs!! My ex girls boy friend has a vw and she tells me he has the worst luck with it and after the warranty went out he blew something which cost almost a thousand to fix. his turbo is going out too and that is what is causing the problem. I think it is a golf but am not sure.. anyway it doesn't stop there... just bad luck period, I guess a few weeks ago in a storm a sign went right through his window and all inside got soaked. I feel bad for him but hey that is what he gets for sleeping w/ my ex.. ha ha just playin

i have a 2003 vw GTI, had it about for almost 2 years now, racked up 30,000 miles and no problems like the ones you mentioned and i have no regrets either, let's not conform to generalizations

actually..overall...honda has better reliability and everything bhc786 is hella true. i owned a vw prior to my brand spanking new 04 civic coupe ex.

i always had transmission issues which is normal on the reverse gear for the year vw i had. i also was a regular member at the vw forums and those with newer vws than myself were having issues with the coil packs dying and even the lady across the street from me couldn't get her car to start one day...same issue. she had me come over to take a look at it. electrical was dead in the water.

the vw toureg looks awesome and spendy. i imagine the quality has to be better on their suv, but their baseline fleet...hatchbacks and jetta sedans do have their quirks. i can only assume that they are working on the problems. the vw crowd at vwvortext.com are hella sensitive about their members trading vws up to other brands. of course these are the same members that get branded as gay for driving jetta sedans by mass media, so i can see why they would be a tad more touchy about things.

upgrading my old vw to a 04 coupe ex was the best decision i made. the fit and trim is much nicer and the transmission is shifts crisp and clean. i wouldn't mind adding a short shifter that many 7th genners have moded to on these forums. plus 04 vic, i hear was the first year they offered the vic in magnesium metallic. very cool color.

everyone is going to have cars they don't care for or hate on. i personally think ford focus rides look like eggs with wheels on the road. plus for some reason..i've always wanted to swap out the letter 'O' in the focus back with a second letter 'U' and see how long the driver would putt around town with the f*cus badge on their ride, heh heh. my girlfriend laughed when i told her about that as a joke.

I wouldn't say owning a Honda is synonymous with a trouble-free world, but I'll give it to Honda for being one of the most reliable car manufacturers out there.

having a honda does not mean a trouble free world. but i did think that when i bought it.in fact (not that im bashing anyone elses honda) but i never paid more than $1000 for any car i ever owned until now. a camaro, 2 cougars, a corolla, and an explorer. every one had over 100k on it and so far ive had more problems with my honda than ive had with all those cars put together. its not that i hate my honda, its just that i get bored with cars very quickly and easily and when i bought a 7th gen, i knew nothing about hondas or i woulnt have bought a 7th gen.

vws

oh another small beef....i love the interior of the vw R32 and the technology put into it...but it looks like a fregging gti with a body kit. for a 30k car..you would think they'd give it more of an unique look to set it apart. its like buying a srt and expecting the general public to know its not a neon even though it looks 98% identical to its little brother.

my sister had a vw and almost got killed in it. had a 2003 jetta with the heated seats, but the seats were cloth. well something was wrong with it and it caught fire inside the seat. as she was pulling into our driveway she felt the burning on her leg so got out. her whole seat ended up catching on fire. cause of that i will never buy a vw

yea, i had a vw for 5 years. i had various problems with it. it was time for a change. i have nothing but great things to say about my 04 civic couple ex. it has everything i need and is a pleasure to drive. the design and quality is superior to that of the vws for the price i paid for it. not bad for a low maintenance/high resale value brand.

i would have no issue buying a honda or an acura based on this first honda buying experience.

the members at vwvortex tend to be territorial and do bash non-vw cars more readly. i'm sure there are plenty of other car forums that do the same.
