death of a supersleeper
This week I've had no heat in my Acclaim, and starts from a cold stop have been sounding more and more horrendous. I got an OEM t-stat for it today, but that didn't solve the problem. In fact, I got billowing clouds of white smoke from the motor. After a little more investigation I found a water pump that wasn't moving.
Water pump replaced and still same symptoms. Compression tested the cylinders and found number 3 was terrible. A few minutes later I found the crack in the head.
As far as I know right now, value of the head exceeds the value of the car. I'm not sure if I'm keeping it for parts or stripping it and junking it but I am not looking to repair it.
Since the car is dead I have no problem speaking about it now. Fully built WS6 Trans Am motor, supercharger, 200 direct port nitrous shot, 6-speed tremek, carbon fiber driveshaft and the rear end out of a SVT Cobra. Edelbrock heads, lots of SLP stuff... Pop-up gauges hidden in the interior, made to appear bone stock. Lots of customization, lots of fun. Basically wanted to see how far I could go, and I think I just about found it.
Was a great girl and a real fun ride. I always ran at Dover and E-town, ran no-times and for money. Fastest run I can remember was going up against an Integra GSR who ran a low 11 and I had him by about 3 cars without spraying. Now I wish I had run it just once for time, but hey
Here's another thread about it. http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=173265
Just a quick RIP to her. Sad day for me. Farewell to a great little car.

Wait a minute..
You wrote above that you have a 6 speed Tremec tranny, but in the post you linked you wrote this:

This post is useless without pics. Please prove me wrong.. I wanna see your setup.

To answer both your questions:
1) rear end was from a SVT Cobra --- read above. was surprisingly easy to fabricate in due to the huge amount of undercarraige space and striking similarity between the Pontiac and Ford setups.
2) look at the post date on that thread, and the post date on this one. projects like these go through many changes. the a/t was annoying me and if you read I had always wanted to change it. most of the parts for this car came from junkyards...when a tremek became available [wrecked superbird if I remember correctly], I picked it up.
as for pics, there are what there are in that thread. from what I can remember I only have exteriors. although the front end looks pretty obviously heavy, even with aftermarket suspension components.
as far as people calling BS, yeah they did that in the last thread. they doubted I was building up a trans am with pops at the time too. and they doubted I had a civic. and an srt-4. they got proved wrong. I'm done trying to prove myself over the internet. either take what I say at face value or leave. "proving" that someone is bsing doesn't make you cooler...and in this case, no one has anything that could even be moderately construed as proof.
if you don't believe me,

you can see red x's...you can also see the following replies saying "we got own3d" and other members saying such things.

the k20 civic is actually significantly slower than the srt-4. granted, I have put much more money into the srt-4 but I found the srt-4 transfers the power to the ground better. hopefully the k24 civic will give it a run for the money. if I ever get around to it. damn school.
probably has something to do with the fact that the srt-4 is a factory turbo whereas the k20 is not. and the fact that the honda has been swapped, so I dunno if that threw off the front to rear weight ratio any. I get the feeling the motor is too far forward.

Again, where are the pics? Email them to me.. specifically the way you installed the WS6 into a front wheel drive 4-cylinder engine compartment. I just wanna see one pic that shows something that proves me wrong and I'll STFU and appologize. Thats all I wanna know.. I live in California so you dont have to worry about me telling anyone I know to watch out for a beat up Acclaim "sleeper".

if you think about it, a front wheel drive car has a front transaxle...if you remove the transmission from that bay it would free up quite a bit of space, eh?

Your so full if ****. Your post means nothing. Email one single pic that proves me wrong.
Sure you'd free up space if you removed the transaxle and tranny, but that would only give you some room on one side by either strut. Explain to me how you managed to get the engine and tranny past the firewall. How did you modify the floor for the tranny bell housing? Also how did you install the clutch pedal assembly? Surely if you did all this work you'd have some technical details on all this was accomplished.
Come on man, you've taken this far enough... give it up already, the jokes over.
Please prove me wrong, I wanna be owned.

I said something. You think I'm full of ****. You think you're tough because you can call BS over the internet. End of story. I could care less what you think.
