scion tC styling vs Civic
I finally got around to checking out my local toyota/scion dealer. I wanted to take a look at the new tC. They had a whopping ONE tC. Overall, I was impressed with the car. I was surprised by one thing- I noticed the rear wheels are pretty close to the back of the car. And the front wheels leave plenty of room for the long nose front end. I never much paid attention to the wheel orientation on a car. Suddenly I thought the car looked kinda funny. Our civic are just the opposite- big butts, small nose.
hmmm... the tC isnt a hatchback is it?
if not, it must have a really small trunk

I would take the Civic coupe exterior looks over the tC but vice versa on the interior though. And thats where the comparison pretty much ends.....
I just think the tC is a very large car for a coupe.... about the same length as a Civic sedan.

yeah i agree with curious. look wise i think the civic is better. Everything else the TC is better. No one can deny that the price to performance ratios just kicks the crap out of the civic. I think the interiors of many of the of the scions are impressive for its class. If the TC was out when i bought my vic, i would probably be driving a TC as well. Especially since i have a auto, Toyota trannies > honda trannies.

I keep getting IMs/PMs from people asking me questions about the tC. Some from this site tell me they are getting rid of their Civics now for them.
For a coupe, the tC owns, because it looks like a coupe but has a hatchback trunk.
A black 05 Civic EX Sedan still makes me happy though. If I were to build a race civ again, I'd go that route. Black 05 4dr, with dark silver wheels, slammed and built beyond built lol.
But yeah, tC for me, and I'll keep saying it again and again.

in terms of styling, the civic is more conservative while the scion tc is more edgey. i guess toyota used that look to attract younger ppl. i still like my civic tho for what it does and that is be an econobox. 38mpg > 29 mpg.

i think Tc wins hands down. and it is a hatchback.
i rode in a Tc a bunch of times, its a real roomy car in the back seat and the whole roof is pretty much a sunroof. the front part opens, but the rear is glass and its awesome. the controls are laid out nicely and everything looks good. the car is ballsy also. exterior styling is very muscular. i think 17" rims are either standard or an option. very good looking car.
only thing is that i think its a bit heavy. im looking forward to the improvements they make to it in the next few years.

i test drove a tc a couple months ago before i bought my ex coupe 5spd and all i can say is that i hated it. the only good thing about that car is it's outside styling - other than that i didnt like anything else. trunk is too small, backseat isn't even usable in most cases for taller people, manually tranny sucked *** - i've never stalled a car so much in the course of a half hour drive. and i've been driving stick for over 5 years, so I'd say I'm pretty used to it by now.
power, it might have more. gas mileage sucks IMO for a car like that - the EP3 civic gets better gas mileage and almost same specs.

yeah maybe we should wait for the 06 si. Before we make more comparisons between civic and tc's. I'm still hoping the spy pics aren't for the US market and honda will get there head out of there asses and come with something to top the TC.

I don't know yours but my civic is always 300+ miles per tank, and 400 per tank IF I DO A LOT OF highway driving in a week. [if you ask... I use Shell Defenda Premium Gas 93]. A bigger engine, wich means more displacement needs more gas to make an efficient combustion on each cylinder. Plus.. more weight means more power needed to move the car. So is impossible that the tC's gas milege be better than Civic EXs MPG.
Plus... have you been inside of a tC??... alright, nice space management, but for me, is kinda plain.
Reliability??... Alright, Toyota name is backing up Scion's name, but who knows? We just have to wait to see how reliable are they. Remember that since Toyota and GM are big partners Toyota's reliability have droped a little.
So for now.... the car just looks better than the civic, but it just don't CLEARLY perform better than an EX, I've been on the track racing with them and I've won for about 0.4s. And MPG??... please, never better than a Civic EX.
And.... about performance, never better than a Civic Si (comparing the engines, they have the same HP and the Si is waaay faster than a tC).
