The only thing worse than a cop is a Navy cop.
So, I don't have anything against the police. They are cool, no beef at all. I do, however, despise the MAs (Navy's version of MPs).
I was on leave for the past week and a half so I didn't go on base. So this evening, when I had to come back to work, the guard at the front gate decided he wanted to tell me that I had a broken muffler and it was too loud. Now, I have dual 40 Series Flowmasters on my car, but it's not THAT loud. So he kept telling me that it's against the law in Washington to drive around like that and how he shouldn't let me on base since my car is violating a traffic law. Having dealt with these guys on plenty of occassions, I chose to keep my mouth shut and not cuss him out.
So yeah, my car was in storage for 5 months, but it doesn't sound any louder than what it did before. And I did go get the emissions check on it, and the guys over there didn't say anything about it. Did Washington pass some new law while I was gone or something? Grrr.

You can tell him that it is perfectly legal. They're allowed to turn people away, but not for a stupid reason like that. You could talk to their CO's.
What does MA stand for? I always thought Military Police took care of all the bases... Oh well, it must be a naval base.

the MA's have nothing on the a**holes here in lejeune... always looking for a reason to harrass a sailor stuck at a marine base. at least the guys you deal with are in the same service
