Celica best handling?
For all contests involving braking and turning, the GT-S wins big. It stops from 70 mph in only 166 feet, has the best grip on the skidpad at 0.88 g, and figuratively smoked all the others through the lane-change test at 74.3 mph. The next-best Acura managed only 71.7 mph.
According to car and driver the celi outhandles all cars in its class including the RSX type s.

the celica is great in STS for autox. the RSX/civic chassis isn't up to snuff compared to the celica. The car gods deemed it so...
The Celica is a handler, I've driven a few. I don't like the engine as much as the K20, all those moving parts in the VVTLI would scare me down the raod.
Maybe the next gen Civics and Acura's will go back to 2X A-arm suspension...

Both have double-wishbone suspension with independent MacPherson Struts. The new RSXs even has the advantage of wheels...215/45R17 and the celica has 205/50R16.
my friend has an 02 Celica GT
Hot Shot Headers
AEM Cold Air Intake
Cat Back Exhaust (Forgot the Brand)
Unorthadox Pulley's
Short Shifter
Lightend Fly Wheel
ACT Clutch
Coil Over's
He did have it turbo'd but he blew the motor up and had it replaced..... he was running like 4 lbs of boost and he blew away a 13.6 mustang( SOMETHING LIKE THAT I WAS THERE) that we are friends with. This thing had BALL's.. iT run's a 15.5 now
His car is fast and he does grip and have CRAZY turning abilities. I'm not a fan of the car but it does fly and grip to the ground. But yea I just had to say this =)
Oh yea.. did anyone know the intake manifold is plastic?

Most intake manifolds are made out of aluminum. His friend is using a plastic manifold for weight reduction.

Yes, the 2005 models are the last ones and will be discontinued. Toyota is leaving Scion to take care of the sports cars. However thats not the end of toyotas sports cars. They're currently working on a 500hp, V10 which mite be released in '06. This may be the next supra toyota's '06 supercar .

Nookiemonster, the C&D article I posted has it doing 0.87 stock, as for Ford parts, if I'm not mistaken, isn't the block itself a Duratec block, with all the ancilliaries being Mazda (and the odd Mitsubishi part here and there...)
I do believe it is a ford duratec block yes, but everything internal and supporting features are all developed by Mazda. So yes you are right. The chassis is also 100% Mazda.
Just correcting ignorant remarks about the chassis. That is all.
