ironic but sad
Before, i always wanted a civic and i got mine at a good deal for 10.5 2003 lx sedan. so i got one, and joined this site, i feel i made a huge tremendous mistake in buying this car. i wanted something reliable, cheap and upgradeable perfomance aka what i thought civics are. then i get hit with boltons = waste of money serious power 40hp+ = turbo or swap both running in the 4.5+ around here.
ah well, atleast i got it cheap. if i had paid retail i would have been one pissed off *******. oh, yeah, im soo glad i never bought that overpriced SI.
btw, if i had found this site b4 i bought my civic i would have still bought it.

a civic was never meant to be fast my friend, Honda's DO NOT MAKE FAST CARS. if you put some effort into modding, you may achieve the level of speed you desire, or you can just buy another car. God only knows why Honda made v-tec.
Well since you bought the car cheep it isn't so bad spending $ to upgrade and make it fast. If you think of it this way if you bought a more expensive car then you would have less $ to upgrade and be paying more insurance. Use the money you saved in purchasing the Civic + money you are saving in gas (87 octane) + money you are saving in insurance (economy car) to put toward a k20 swap. Have faith in your vic.

Same thing with Miatas.
Hmmm I never said anything about my 8, but I did say the S2K isn't FAST. It's decently quick yes. And like jiggerachi said, it depends on the type of track you're on. If we wanna make a pissing contest about the 8 vs the S2K, I can show you plenty of videos of S2K's raping 8's on open tracks, and also plenty of videos of 8's raping S2K's on open tracks.
But the point of my post was simply that: S2k's, while not slow, are not FAST either when it comes to 0-60, quarter mile etc...
Now as far as the civic is concerned, I gave mine to my mother. I can tell you that I sure am missing the gas mileage of that little car. That and the fact that I didn't have to worry about it 24/7 when I parked it in parking lots.
Just be happy you have a car. A new model car at that. Alot of people would kill to be in your shoes.

sk2 is fast from 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile. It does 5 point somethnig to 60 and does between low 14s and high 13s in the 1/4 miles and it runs circles around cars at tracks. You don't need a crazy amount of Horsepower to have a fast car. Check out this SK2 VS Ferrari 360 CS

High 13's low 14's is not FAST in the quarter mile. It's decently quick. The STi, EVO, and SRT-4 have been known to hit 12's stock. Now that's FAST. I've seen alot of 12 second supras, cobras, mustangs, etc. Those are FAST. I love the S2k and RX-8 which both have very similar numbers, but they just aren't quarter mile contenders. Maybe compared to a civic, but not compared to cars made for that kind of driving.
I agree. But if you check around SRT-4 boards there are a few instances where they have hit high 12's. Hard to believe? yeah. Was it a fluke? Maybe. But those cars have been giving alot of people some nice surprises lately.
