Got in an accident...quick question

I got into an accident last night...screwed the whole drivers side scrathed the hood, top of the car and everything. Anyways the highway patrol guys came out and asked if i wanted to report and said i didnt know. It was my first time...anyways I told him no. He told me that there were no other parties involved so i didnt have to report it and that my insurance would still cover the damages even without a report. My question is will insurance cover the damages even without a report and if they do will they report it to the DMV? probably well over $5k worth of damages.

thats if you want your premiums to go up the ***.. but 5k in damages is something you actually would use insurance for.. you dont need a police report.. depending on your insurance carrier.

i know when i had my accident i had 7500 worth of damages and it was borderlined totaled, but i had a report, i have an 01 dx auto dunno if it helped or gave u any ideas, best of luck but how did it hapopen?

well...it was getting dark and i was about to enter the freeway going about 35...the turn was kind sharp and it was my first time on that street. Anyways some animal ran accross the damn freeway entrance so i figured I swirve a little to the shoulder to avoid hitting the little bastard. there were some loose gravel and pebbles on the roads so when I swirved I just lost control and the next thing I knew I was facing back in the same direction i was coming from. I hit the "freeway entrace" sign. it was huge! f**cked up my drivers side rear the damn pole flew over and hit the top of my car, part of it musta hit my hood...there were dents and scrathes everywhere... nice bed time story?
