New Car
Ok I'm gonna be trading in my car soon 2001 Civic LX Sedan.I'm looking at a bunch of cars 2004 Civic EX Coupe,RSX,RSX Type-S,Eclipse GST and Celica GTS.But I'd really like to keep it in the honda family. And although the RSX-S is like my dream car I thinks it's out of reach at the moment. So what I would like to know is what do you guys think about The Civic coup VS Base RSX.I know its not as fast as the type S but it should still be a huge improvement over a civic? any comments ideas???
Lemme tell you what...RX-8 has been my dream car ever since it was just a concept in 1999. My dad owned several RX-7's, one of which sits in my garage now. I would have never thought I could have gotten my dream RX-8 in a million years. Guess what? I got it the other day. Sometimes you just gotta try for the best, and if it's not attainable, get something to suffice until you can get it. See what I'm saying?

^^ That coming from someone who has a D17... The base RSX engine is practically the same as a Si however the gearing isn't as aggressive as the Si's.
If you could afford a base RSX I would go for it. Remember that there's plenty of aftermarket support for the K Series engine. Besides, you can swap out parts (exhaust, etc) from a Type-S onto a base...
Or your other option would be to go with the Scion tC...

eh.. get a used 7th gen civic at like 10-12 grand(for a realy clean one) and drop the rest(prolly 5 grand) on a full k20A motor swap. Best of both worlds man.. faster than type S with the 7th gen look.. eh just IMO. ull be out 17 grand but eh less than new rsx base

Ok as much as I would love to get a cheaper vic and swap an engine..from my post above you might realize that i have no Cash to buy that stuf with. And as those of you who know me,know that may car was in an accident and i have a house and 2 kids..so saving up $$ isnt an option either because any extra $ that comes along has to go towards other stuff. So if I can manage to get a type-S while saving money on what im paying now then i'm gonna buy it,but it might not be feasable. So I think I will just get a base RSX ....I mean I love my civic and dont need insane amounts of power and just wan't something sporty looking and has a hatch and not a trunk because of my sub's and now I realise that even "just" a base RSX is exactly what I need. so now i just gotta shop around and have my wife talk to some people (she works for honda finance
and i can usually get cars at dealer cost =) )

the base rsx has more torque than the si, its due to the different intake manifold...
but i would just get what you want.. but have a backup choice just in case... best of luck in your desision, personally if you were gonna consider the rsx type s, i would throw the wrx into the mix...

Like most people say...go for your dream car the RSX type S, you only live once man, enjoy it. If its between that or eating only bread and water, than of course you wont be able to obtain...but if you can, like on Starsky and Hutch, "DO IT"

Hey Lucid, from your list of cars I say go for the RSX (S or not, but preferrably S) or the Celica. Good luck finding a new car!

honda financing? umm then get the RSX - S ... its wayyyy cheaper than you think. honda financing gets gets it a lil cheaper than dealer cost.. uncle is GM and Chevy... i get Hummers for 14 grand off MSRP (not bragging just an example of the affordability you have, USE IT! ehe)
