Ex heavier than Lx......why!? So why is the 2002 Ex coupe 5-speed 100lbs heavier than the 2002 Lx coupe 5-speed!?!? (Ex- 2553lbs, Lx-2465lbs) Only difference i see is ex adds more weight with a moon roof and ABS unit....what the heck else!?

ABS, Sunroof, Sound system, Different seats (The EX seats are Height adjustible too) Ect ect ect... theres plenty enough to add on 100 LBS...

Rep Power: 328 remember too the motor is gonna have additional weight, in addition to the ABS system you have the vtec components, probably different weights in the gears (i'm assuming)
Bigger wheels, sway bar in the back...
keyless entry brain ads extra weight in the 01/02 models (I think 03+ has keyless on the LX and the EX)
zzyzx covered the rest of it...the sunroof weighs quite a bit believe it or not. The retractor motor, tracks, and the glass weighs more than metal.

Rep Power: 342 Back when I stripped my Mazda we took out the sun roof, mind you this is a hand cranked sunroof so no motors. But when you add up all the tracks, mechanisms, the glass, and all the mounting hardware it was well over 60 pounds, and thats without a electric motor.

Rep Power: 285 Coolbeans, thanx everyone. I never would have figured a moonroof would weight so friggin much. Oh well, i like my moonroof, worth the extra 60 or so pounds in my opinion.

vtec only gives us EX owers like 9 hp to the wheels according to honda the LX has 117hp at the crank and the EX has 127hp. at the wheels the LX is like 98-99hp and the EX is like 110-111hp so if u think about it an LX with an EX engine will be quite fast for every 10 pounds more you loose about 1hp to the wheels... thats why i am on a diet lol im 125 trying to get down to 110.. 1hp is worth it lol
