Wish me luck guys, I really need the luck

technically speaking, i am on the 4th car now....or 5th if i am counting the lancer...

a brief history:

it all started with a newb wanting to get a car...so i saved up while working in tim hortons...

the first car i got was a 1989 240SX..then, i traded it for an AE92....

guess what, I didn't drove the 240SX @ all, nor did i drive the AE92... i traded the 240SX for the AE92 right away after the deal, straight trade. And when my mom found out that I bought an AE92...she made me sell it, my dad said he would get a new car for me.

lalala...and i sold it and lost a few bills... and then resulting my mom (u will realize how much of a problem she is) saying i am not ready for a car...so i pretty much wanna kill her...

so i chilled, i save up the $ again, this time i got an AW11, 1986 MR2...this time, i actually towed the car home, drove it for about 10 times...the car was never on my name, i didn't put insurance on it... and then I sold it because my dad said he will get me a new car IF I sell it, once again, he talked me into it...since drivng a MR in winter is pretty dangerous

My parents were about to put insurance for me on the MR2 since i got an 80 in english, mind you, i was getting 50s.....

I shopped around....that time i didn't look @ civics...i landed on the Lancer...

I insisted on the manual, but my parents want auto, we couldn't land on an agreement, so I was all pissed, since the made me a promise, and i was the one who's paying...

-------------------------

tht's it for history...here's what happened today, me and my dad for some reason has rumbled into a Honda dealer (markham honda), I was looking for used cars....

But then I landed on this '04 5spd Civic Si Sedan, I thought, wow, let me check out the price... the salesman calculated to 470 a month including tax... w/ 0 down. 60 months finance. I talked to my dad, how bout if we give him an offer, and if it's possible, we will deal...

what I had in mind was 400 a month inluding tax w/ 0 down. he said 448, and i said no, i told him my situation, how i work and I am the one who's paying...so the manager came out...

we managed to settle to 1000 downpayment and 400/month... OR 418/month, i thought, not bad...my dad agreed...so my dad put a 500 dollars deposit on the car....

so here we go again...we went home, my dad told my mom about it, my mom was like NO, he is not ready for a car....and she thought of a few thousands of non-legitimate reasons...my dad is still persuading her...

I am wishing that the deposit is non-refundable, so I won't have to worry..sigh...

wish me luck guys, lets hope my dad successfully persuades my mom and that I could join this community... One good luck from each of you really helps... a car to me is not a car, it's a dream... it's very sad to have dreams demolished several times knowing you have the ability to achieve it... I am not a rich kid who asks their parents to get a Beemer right after they get a liscence, i save up money with every cup of coffee i make @ timmies...

I don't know if i posted in the right section, please don't flame me if I did, I am really confused right now, losing a car is worst than losing a girl...

Good luck. I know how you feel. I had an 87 Jetta with all sorts of problems. Then my parents finally broke down and worked a deal for the civic. I was still going to school and they got it when I was 21. I agree it's not a good idea to get a young kid something new. I'm glad I had the crappy car to train on for a few years in case something happened.
