He said what it ran but didnt show it sooo
I dont consider it a valid movie. 14.20 is slow for car in that price range! Evo's run faster stock vs stock.
is it just me or new mustangs bigger than the old ones? I saw 2 yellow Gt's on the road yesterday so i take it that fords making them now.
Hey TREV when you get the Top Gear video on the mustang post it for us.

2003/2004 Cobra 4.6 liter, supercharged, iron block with forged internals.
390 UNDER-RATED HP.
Not to mention a pulley, chip, full exhaust and intake you have a monster.

Maybe not stock, but once Madwheel is getting the
AEM EMS for the Evo... let's just say the mustang's history, no matter if that ****'s underrated or overrated.
When I race at the track for money, it's all bracket racing. It doesn't matter what I run, it matters that I cut a light in the .5 to .55 range and run my number. A lot of folks here seem way too concerned about getting low ETs. Low ETs are fun, but to take home the trophy and money, it's about reaction times and running your numbers. I don't see too much discussion on this board about that. My guess is most folks are grudge racing at the tracks instead of entering the NHRA, IHRA or other money paying races. My advice is spend less time tuning and talking, and spend more time racing. It's much more fun...

He went on the freeway to race a z06 and his engine shot a rod..

the 03's and 04's are over rated because Ford was afraid to make the same mistake twice.
I know Ford, I use to own a mustang.
Next time do your research before calling me out

EDIT: I saw that video and know the guy that posts. Its a 99 with a 2003 body kit. The new 03 Cobras have made 900 HP stock internals and broke 10 seconds in the 1/4th......

They went cheap in the end for the Mustang GT. They completely redid the whole car the chassis everything over used the live rear axle from previous-generation Mustangs rather than replace it with an independent rear suspension.

00-04 mustang GT's 260 hp...
05 mustang gt's 300 hp...
the car weighs just about the same as the previous generation, only it has more power. the old ones could do 14.0-14.2 quarter miles stock regularly. i'd only assume the new 2005's could do 13.8's...

the svt cobra had IRS, but it got too much wheel hop when drag racing... a lot of people swapped the IRS for the live axle.

I park in a pretty big garage, and the bottom level is taken up completely by county employees and police, i park on the second level but i always see the cars when i come down. i walked past the lot monday and noticed a blue 05 mustang parked like it was a meet (but cops can do that i guess) and didn't think much of it, walked past again this morning and the car was there again but the right corner of the front was smashed. i tried not to smile, but i couldn't help it.

well lets take it for what it is... a Ford (domestic, generally lower reliability - but i have nothing against ford, i've owned 2 already), designed to be mass produced to sell quickly meaning more style than function, 300 horsepower V8 which is pretty cool, not that great of handling, but not terrible... that's what it is, it still sells really well, and it looks pretty cool and it's got decent power. take it how you like it. sure the evo and sti are better performance cars, but what can you find for 25K that is of equal performance to a mustang?

Some of you are quite arrogant..but nonetheless..
"The car in the video was an Automatic, with quite a bit of extra weight in the form of Ford's datalogging and calibration equipment. And, yes, it was at Milan Dragway, which is consistently a couple 10ths slower than what most other people seem to be able to acheive at other tracks. The laungh was from idle like a grandma and STILL ran 14.20"
Yes its a car anyone can afford..so stop dissin..its not like you have to buy it or something lol... If ford makes a car that cheap and affordable..is it not good for the consumer, competition wise??
