best car for under 35,000?
best car for under 35,000?
hey i think someone posted something like before, but i wanted to get peoples opinions. My friend is going to trade in his 7thgen (he isn't on the site) and goin to get a car in the 30,000 dollar range. his top three right now are the STI, s2000, are 350Z. He doesn't really like the evo... However, what car would u guys get for around 30000, give or take a little, and why? hes only 21 and is going to be a real pimp when he gets one of these cars... part of the reason he can afford one is cuz he won a 35,000 dollar jackpot a year ago at hte casino. He wants a fast car, however thats not the only thing he wants. But hes not going to void the warranty on anything. so hes not going to get a STI and like mod it heavily, however it is already fast enough. He wants to get aSTI and make it a convertible. OKay, tell me what u guys think, and WHY? thanks!
i siad list why! I think the STI and evo is a buyers choice, and he just doesn't like the way the evo works! and isnt' chrysler cutting the funds on the evo anyways and it r uns 19lbs of stock boost! thats going to catch up with time isn't it?
i'd take the sti too.. but to make it a convertible??? that car is hot the way it is why would he want to make it a convertible? why not just get an s2k.. also if he made it a the sti a convertible wouldn't that void his warrany as well(or is there an sti-convertible coming out)?
he doesn't really want anything in particular, he likes the s2000 cuz its convertible and it looks sporty, and its probaly a littl emore reliable, cuz its not turbo. But he likes the STI too, cuz its a beast, and it looks nice. He wants a car that will beat most cars, like a turbo civic, but something that he can have for a long time!
Try a 2000 or so Z28 SS with a S/C.
That'll throw down about 450 ft/lbs and 425 hp on stock internals. That takes care of the beating most other cars on the road. If he takes care of it, it'll last a long time too.

wel hes not planning on doing any engine mods (To keep warranty). like he would jsut get a downpipe and exhaust or something if he got a STI, i believe that keeps the engine warranty?
i'd personally take an sti. best car in its catergory for the buck.
its fast stock and with bolt ons, it responds well enough to them.
it can whoop most cars on the road today, even the v8 group with the right driving/mods
looks real nice and clean
basically comes loaded with a momo steering wheel, wheels, turbo, goodies, etc.
i doubt warranty will be voided with exhaust components unless they an prove the mod damaged the vehicle somehow.
4wd with a lot of power and torque.
decent gas mileage compared to 8cyl cars and other v6's.
alot of potential
and idk wtf he is thinking about making it a convertable =|

I would go for an R32. More versatile than most of the other cars. 240 hp stock in a hatchback, not to mention supercharger or turbo. Doesn't look as sporty as a G35 coupe (thats pick number two), but its all wheel drive and good for motorcrossing.

that shiet is mean..id go for that
or...the G35 hey hey ladies do love the backseat too, more room the better
do you guys think that the STI and evo aren't long term cars and aren't reliable? Cuz hes graduated college this year, and needs a car he can use for work and stuff, and one he can depend on?

The 350Z and the G35/Skyline are pretty much like cousins. The 350Z is the big muscle bound Football player while the G35 is the pimp who got all the ladies excited. Both are great in thier own way. Honestly, I'd go with the G35/Skyline.
