Can anyone recommend where to sell new custom Civic
Hi,
A friend of mine recently won a new Civic Coupe in a contest. She likes the car, but needs the money more than the car. It is brand new. The pricing list with customizations lists the car at 42K.
She is asking me for some assistance in where a good place to sell the car on the Internet might be. Any assistance appreciated. Here are some details about the car. Also, what do you think the car is worth?
Extras, include Alpine audio and navigation system, 20-inch ZRi Performance tires with 7-spoke rims, custom paint interior and DVD player.
For complete details visit http://www.civictour.com/the_custom_civic/details.asp.
Thanks for any help!

holy ****
, i remember that car few weeks back when members here were talking about it.
what you can do is part it out (which can be a good idea to get more profit than selling as a whole).
www.craigslist.org
www.autotrader.com
www.ebay.com
but either way, you guys are dochebags, you won the car for free and now you want to sell and want money instead of this nice car. just like what those other ppl like on eBay when they had their ride "pimped" on mtv. i dam you guys to hell.

umm.. car will not sell as a whole.. must be peiced out.. best bet is sel off parts you dont need .. prolly make it back to stock and consider selling the other car she drove.. keep this one so you have some sort of balance.. a new car most definatly and a load of money.. best of both worlds i guess..
I think if she kept it all intact, and posted "Dashboard Confessional Tricked-out Civic" on ebay or something, she might get some collectors that want to pick it up. Some people with way too much money are in to collecting things like that.

I wouldn't part out the whole care, just kick it back to as stock as possible, then sell it for like 15,000 - 18,000
If you wanna see how much you could get on ebay, go there and put it up on a 7 day auction and set the Reserve price really high. Then when the final bid is set, if it is what you like take it, or if you don't like it and think you can get more somewhere else tell them you don't want to sell it cause they didn't reach the reserve.
The much without any engine mods, I dunno. She could probably get maybe 25-30 for the thing if she sells it to the right person just for its notariety as being in a contest. But without any mods such as turbo, engine management etc. from high end places, that car is not goin out the door for 42k with just stereo and paint.

I've seen this car in person when the civic tour came to Cincinnati.
First off, The car does not have 20 inch wheels on it. Second off, no way in hell is that car worth $42K. Its nice looking, but thats it. No engine mods, drop springs, OEM Lip kit, Stereo, and a paint job does not equal $42K. No way. They are BSing her.
Oh, and the wheels are Konigs.

The say the Alpine stuff costs 10g's (almost) alone. I can see them inflating the body work/interior for 42... NO WAY IN HELL HE'LL get it though...
I hate these "what would I get" posts. Put the thing on EBAY with a reserve price you would let it go with. Then let the free market economy decide what it is worth.
It is not worth ANYTHING until someone actually buys it. Then it is worth that amount.
A stock HONDA is worth the sticker price when people pay that amount. And worth 42000 is what the company reports to the IRS as a loss due to promotional consideration.

And how do we know this isn't a bunch of BS anyways. A Noob posts that he friend wins this car and post up a pics of it from the civic tour web site. Wow, I believe that. And not only that, but he doesn't even know everything that is on the car. And he says that "they" said they car is worth $42K. What kind of **** is that? Like I said, I have seen the car in person and it is in no way shape or form worth $42K or has anywhere near that much work into it. Hell Prod was there with me.

I remember someone here also won the Blink 182 civic when the site first started. I think he just ended up keeping it or something.Too lazy to read the second page....
How do you guys plan on returning the car back to stock? I doubt that the people who gave the car to you just have the stock parts laying around somewhere. Also, the fact that it's a dashboard confessionals civic brings it enough prestige anyways.

time to post pics from your actual cam. if not that, i guess ppl gonna call bs on you.
but i dont see the point of bs-ing a free car =\ thats just sad
42k? thats def. bs. unless they rounded up the FULL retail + tax + shipping and handling or something.
