When I was 16 (and stupid) I had a z28 and raced a guy in a cobra after school. The next day I had to check out early and found out later that night that a cop had been sitting in my driveway that afternoon. Found out the guy in the cobra was a cop, still don't know if he could do anything to me the next day unless he caught me speeding that day.
i'm guessin it was his personal vehicle. scariest thing that's happened to me so far is driving home one night, i was following a minivan kinda close (only going like 5 over speed limit though), and when it stops at a stop sign, a cop in uniform opens the door, steps out, walks over to my car and starts screaming at me for tailgating...

Tell them to *** off if they pull that **** on you. I have had it happen before. I raced a older civic one time in my zx2, and that dude turned out to be a cop and had a uniform officer pull me over and the civic stoped to and both got out and asked why I was racing. I let them have it. Its bullshit, so it is ok for a undercover cop to race others in there own personal vehicle, yet we get yelled at because it is dangerous and we get the ticket for it. Screw that. I told the cop that if he was going to give me a ticket, then he should give the other cop a ticket as well. And the undercover cop told me he was trying toprevent street racing. BULLSHIT. He is trying to prevent street racing by street racing himself.
Just because they wear the uniform, and drive there own personally vehicle, doesnt mean they can break the law, they have to follow the same rules as we do.

screw undercover cops...my friend just got a speeding ticket from them doing 60mph in a 40mph zone...some people round here were saying that there are cops in hatchs that go around to race people and when they raced they would get owned but im not sure if it was true or not

you have to know how to outsmart the cops. Cops think that people are stupid and dont know the law very well, and they will try to give you a ticket for anything, and put you in any situation where you will get a ticket knowing that most likely you will go to court and just pay the fine. Go to any book store and read those books about how to beat traffic tickets and what not. Also with this, just bitch your *** off.

No entrapment is them getting you to do something out of the norm, if you jump on them and try to race them. Thats your fault they enticed you yes but it something you would have done anyways.

what I don't get is the people in that forum saying that a cop can't give you a ticket if they pull you over off duty, even though they are allowed to pull you over, they can just call in on a cell phone and hold you there till another cop comes.

My friends once got pulled over for street racing, and it was by an off duty detective, one of my friends didn't have his license with him plus he knew the detectives son (not sure if that mattered or not), but when they told me the story they made it sound like the detective let em go cause my friend didnt have his license w/him, but they said he was off duty and would prolly have to call a squad car to come and issue tickets, either way those b@$tards are lucky! I got nailed on the interstate for goin 94 in a 64 supposedly a white van clocked me, I sorta remember a cargo style van w/ the driver giving me a weird look. big mistake on my part i turned my laser off on my radar because the airport sets it off, atleast if i had it on i would know for sure if thats how they got me... its back on now of course :P
when you guys come down from baltimore to the beachs of maryland i got one for you to look out for its a black expedition with chrome rims and tint...... hes not out in this thing but once or twice a month but ive seen quite a few people pulled over by it

there was a story in the news about cars posing as cops with a single red light in the front of their car...my dad told me that if that ever happens to me, to just keep driving and call highway patrol or the police and ask if it's legit.
and about the american vehicles, my dad also says he saw an eclipse pulled someone over? i think he might have confused it with something else though. but i'll believe it when i see it

I was pulled over and given a ticket last December. An off duty cop in his personal vehicle pulled out in traffic, busy traffic, and almost caused me to rear end him so I honked the horn. It pissed him off so he started riding my ***, so my friend starting flicking quarters out the damn sunroof. Well we cut hard to the left and goto a Rasing Canes and he follows, we figure he wants to start something. I get out the car and my friend does and he flashes a badge and throws me on the hood of his SUV and calls the cops. He left before a ticket was given, and the cops that were called had no idea what to put on the ticket. I was told to goto court, there was no case. But I still had to waste two hours of my and my friends times in the freezing cold just because some cop wanted to act stupid.
That and the fact that the local police (the whole 2 cop cars they have at the station) pull me over everytime they see my car. I mean, they said they smelled pot coming from my car as I drove by. WTF is that about?
There is also a cop in town that drives a red z28 with racing stripes. He tries to race people, and when he does *blue lights*. Heard that one from two friends and my bro-in-law.

NY has had undercover accords for a while now. they use a wide range of undercover cars, and you wouldnt know one if you saw one until its pulling you over. my friend once got pulled over by a beat ford taurus...we didnt even think twice that it was a cop because why a taurus?
anyway...if you dont race them, they wont stop you.

One of the sheriffs out here in Medina Ohio drive a Dodge Ram, it's black and says Sheriff on the side, but you still just dismiss it because it's a truck. Here in Ohio a police car has to be markedas such, so now cops are getting these whit cars, and putting this silver reflictive tape on the side that says police in 2 inch letters. Then they drive around without any lights and then they through one of those blue lights on top of their car to pull you over, sucks...
In PA, cops don't have to have marked cars, but they can also only use radar on higways and only the States can use it, otherwise they have to pace with you.
But why can't police use foriegn cars? Around here there are a bunch of Chevy Impalas, and if you look close under the hood of one of those, you might be surpirsed that's a 3.2 liter that has the same exact numbers as an Acura 3.2 TL, hummm... could it be the same engine? Chevy says it is.
