Interesting setup ? *PIC*

It appears to curve downward behind the tranny. When I look at my auto there is a gaping hole down there to the side and underneath where this filter sits. If heat rises then the cooler outside air is getting drawn up to the filter? Maybe somethying there. If anything, its in a much cooler area than the stock AEM placement would be.

thats kinda wierd. i dunno if it would work any better or the companys making the intake might of made it that way but you can tell that its not supposed to be that way.

Not necessarily. Heres a Mustang CAI unit. See the black box about ha;fway down the pipe? Thats the mass air flow sensor. Well someone decided to cut the pipe just before the mass sensor and turn it 90 degrees to the right so the sensor element inside would be positioned better to the air flow and discovered a dyno proven 5 HP gain. The air tended to stick to one side of the pipe as it made its way around the bend and the sensor was not in that airflow. Its now a popular mod and no the manufacturer didnt test it this way and to this day they still make them the way they allways did and let the consumer mod them.
