140 whp, what mods?
if you were aiming at 140 whp without turbo what mods would be required?
When comparing it to a turbo money wise is the turbo still the best option?

Rebuild engine! duh!
all bolt ons
port the head
high compression pistons
hondadata reprogram ecu
will give you around 140hp
busted out my calc on this one and did some number crunching

turbo best way to go and its safe also,
lets see 140 eazy 75 shot
or
pnp head, intake, new exhost system with no cat, plus other things done not exactly sure.
turbos best way to go thow i think more hp more fun and there are kits being sold for only 2200 now if you look in the for sale forum

140 whp ... you would spend about the same amount of money on it as you would for a swap... and the swap would yield more gains...
intake
header
exhaust
ecu
pnp head
ported intake mani
bored tb
bored block
new cam
high compression pistons
rods
valves
valve springs
8k redline
all that might get you 140-150 whp theoretically. However, nobody makes 1/2 of that stuff

redline does nothing sorry!
^^ yes, you would need all that to gain ~40 whp
redline does more if you have a cam to make power at high rpms. If you have a high power cam that still makes power at 7500 rpms, a 7000 redline would hurt you
this is all theoretical anyway

wow what a good question how about a big alluminum wing and some 20inch rims
i know i may be a longshot or maybe even stupid...but why not look for a wrcked oddessey and yank out the motor out of it.....its a 3.5l sohc v6 w/ 240 hp stock......thing is...the suspension is another question there for the motor will add more weight...for the tranny, you can use the 3.5 accord tranny(manual) or just go w/ the a/t tranny of the oddessey..
i may not be talking any sense but as they say...."there is no replacement for displacement exept technology(momentary)".....

Seriously, 140whp isn't a lot, but without swap/turbo, you'll prolly be able to make it up there, but it won't give you as much power as Turbo and about same amount of money you'll be spending..maybe a lil more on turbo..I'd defenitely go with turbo

140whp is up in Si territory. It's doable, but you're gonna end up spending thousands for alot of engine mods that will each only give a few hp each. It's gonna be a long way.

i have been here for a few months now. i know it'll take a lot of small mods with little gain. i read that was what someone was aiming at so i wanted to know what mods would do that. just curiousity. it's not like i'm asking "what exhaust is the best?" stupid generic questions like that. i'm just discovering the fun in modding, if i never thought of doing it i would of waited until i could afford a better car. next time don't be an *** and ***** the thread.

would you consider N2O??? that would jump you to 160+ NA with a complete kit running 1000-1,500 with all the extra gadgets
but then it could get expensive on the long run 40+ every 10lbs tank... but smokin ricers never felt so good when you have N2O

7thgencivic perhaps...aiming in a different direction
intake
1) custom intake (cannot disclose)
2) 60mm throttle body
(theoretically bring out about 6-10whp but running lean)
exhaust
1) dc 4-2-1 stainless steal headers
2) random technology cat
3) particular exhaust (cannot disclose)
(full system basically 8+whp)
engine
1) denso iridium sparks
2) Ngk blue wires
3) optima battery
4) skunk2 cam gear
5) UR SS pullies
6) VAFC II (cannont disclose tuning)
(you do the math and check the pricing)
why get parts that will only serve us at high rpm and speeds? wouldnt the intelligent solution be going for the low end and midrange? my god people we have sohc's think! (for those applicable)
but then agian...i wouldnt know anything....i hear apc has good parts

damn it is pretty pathetic how just to make a few extra HP, you have to spend a **** load of money on our car. other cars this would be done with the simple I/H/E setup.
very true, alot of people tend to upgrade their car with parts that dont work well together and aim for "high end" and "high compression" power that is useless for our engines b/c our engines arent capable to run the optimum output that it "claims"
billy: why does my high performace header not give me the 15+hp it claims it does
marvin: that part is probably meant for high end engines that can give that output and take full potential of the part
billy: but im racing all the time
marvin: get rid of the stickers
billy: but im a tool of the ricer market *bows head in shame*
marvin: daym you apc, another one!
