Almost traded the LX tonight!
I have a 2001 LX sedan 5 speed with 98,800 miles and almost traded for a 2002 EX sedan 5 speed with 25,000 miles. I owe about 4 grand still on the LX. Their final offer was for me to pay $229 for 54 months - I wanted $225 for 48 months. Would like to have the EX but decided to continue driving the LX.
One note was the higher rpms of the EX compared to the LX. At 60 mph the EX indicated around 2900 rpms where my LX is showing right at 2500 rpms. Even though the EX turned more rpms it seemed to be as quiet at the higher rpms.

The EX is a bit louder than a LX. EX has closer gear ratios according to some posts on this forum .
I don't think going from LX to EX will provide much satisfaction. Its probabaly best to wait it out, save your money and buy a higher end car. Something like an RSX Type S.

If you put that many miles on a car, just buy another inexpensive car when you're done. No sense in blowing a ton of money on something that depreciates even faster than usual in your case.

if it would not have been too much of a dent, i would have gotten an ex in place of an lx, cause almost all of the mods for our cars come out in an ex and not a darn LX, even the ceramic headers dont fit

Its a car. Its designed to drive.. Besides my 01 LX has 99,572 miles on it as of 15 minutes ago..
I would just keep the LX, no sense in extending your payments out so long.. Car's almost paid for.. Pay it off, the money you save in having no payments would be very beneficial IMO.

Yeah, that was kind of what held me back - the EX was nice , smoother engine , moonroof , rear sway bar which the 01 LXs did not have, ABS and only 25,000 miles. But my debt would have increased by over $7000. Can add a lot of mods for that!
Some of the new cars I have considered are the Mazda3 and the Scion tC. Might just wait till the LX is paid off. It went over 99,000 today. May end up driving it to 200,000 miles!
