Project Civic.........Please Respond!
Project Civic.........Please Respond!
Please help me put together the perfect 2004 Civic. Working with a budget of $8-10k please help. I found your site from a member of Acura-CL.com and knowing how valuable forum information can be, I turned here. I am the Internet Sales Manager at a large Honda dealership and we are building a Civic for our Parts department. Please provide pricing and links for recomended parts. At this point, we are using Honda's FP suspension, spoiler and aero kit. I need good ideas for everything else( wheel, engine mods, Lighting etc......) All responses are greatly appreciated.
tein ss? on a budget? =|
tein basics would work but the honda FP is already on their.
i think suspension work would be a good idea because the civic is an economy car and it should be kept that way. the best the civic can do is working at its performance in suspension wise. including tires
couple suspension parts i know of are:
-front upper strut bar
-sway bars
-rear lower tie bar
-rear upper strut
-not a part of suspension?, but some nice sticky tires
couple sites i know of for these parts:
www.tornactive.com
www.dezod.com
www.importhorizon.com
theirs plently of websites, just got to research to see where its cheapest and have best shipping

My bad, I didn't see that his post said Honda FP suspension (I've actually never heard of this). He did say an $8k-10k budget though, thats quite a bit of spending room for modfications if he doesnt go into any extreme engine work...
*cough* turbo *cough*
Editing this because I realized you wanted links too. Well I know that Dezod is in development of a kit that supposedly would be out in April of '05. If your pressed for time I would say go with a custom turbo kit. Any search would help you narrow down your choices. I think right now the toughest part is finding a manifold and a downpipe.
In any event, I would probably hook up the wheels, and throw a turbo on it.

spend $6000 on a k20a2 then add in about $1000 for suspension (anti-roll bars, strut bars, anything that will tighten up the car) and then use the honda FP wheels.
i have couple questions
is this 2004 honda civic going to be a showroom car or something?
is it just going to be a car thats gonna sit in the parts room?
is it meant to attract customers attention so it can be bought?

k swap is gonna mean new suspension so the front doesn't sag. that's gonna push the budget.
i'd like to see some 18" volks on it with kuhmo 712's, dc header, injen v2 cai, greddy exhaust, rsx leather seats, and whatever else will wow the kiddies (neons, led washer nozzles, etc) and help sales

those have good rims. cant really say what to get because its really a personal thing.
to finish off the suspension (although the FP package isnt the best option...but you probably have to use it)...get a neuspeed front upper strut bar and front lower tie bar (if they have them). if neuspeed makes a rear tie bar/sway bar combo get that also, but if not, progressive suspension has one that is good. put in some urethane bushings so that things are firmer and smoother.
after that, put in leather RSX seats and wrap your rear seat in leather from katskinz (spelling might be off). or get some other racing seats (recaro, sparco, momo) and a racing harness.
for the engine, increase the displacement (bore/stroke or both) and put in stronger pistons/rods/valves/valve springs. balance the motor, port and polish the heads. make a custom intake manifold that is not restrictive and port match it. replace the throttle body with a larger one. make sure your fuel system can handle it with larger injectors if you need them. upgrade your spark wires and spark plugs to higher performing ones. put in a K&N FIPK or typhoon intake. i doubt there are any other internals for the d17 motor out there, but if you can find a stroker kit that would probably be the better option than boring/stroking and getting the rods/pistons yourself. peformance cams and cam gears might also do something.
for the exhaust, put in DC headers to a high flow catalytic converter, to the skunk2 cat back exhaust or the RS-R exhaust.
im guessing if you have any money left after that you moght want to put it into ipgrading the stereo or something.
